I first want to say I am having an amazing day, and I love Starbuck. I do have some constructive criticism. I read some of the reviews, and I can see why some would say the service is amazing here, but I did not receive that.
I was standing at the counter for about 5 minutes. A manager was standing there speaking with a staff member about where they wanted seating. Another associate was standing directly in front while, I waited patiently for them to finish stocking the counter. Another associate was just standing looking at what was needed in certain areas. I must say that I do not look as eclectic as some of the other customers. I felt completely unnoticed.
I had to eventually say "is someone helping at the front counter." Someone came over but did not apologize, and I wasn't even given the decency of being greeted when I enter the store. The manager Avery handed me my drink. I was never asked if I wanted sweeteners, so I followed up with a request for agave, and honey. I was handed packets stuck together with what I assume to be chocolate. This made me aware that the area the packets were taken from had not been cleaned or this would have been notice. Don't get me wrong the store was immaculate. I think this was just an oversite.
I then sat and watched other patrons that do not look like me walk and received immediate salutations, and service. I made a statement at the counter and said that if I looked like a certain customer I would have been noticed differently. I recognize more every day that there is an unconscious bias in business, and most people don't even know that they are doing it. I think we can learn something from making sure that we give all humans the same service. I have been to several stores in this area, and each time it is the same. If I address it, most staff and customers look as if I am being difficult. They do not understand the mental anguish that I have to deal with checking myself constantly to see if I am doing something wrong. I had to eventually remind myself that all I want to do is be treated equal receive great service, be greeted, and notice as any human who is patronizing a business.
I have to tell myself, Michael you have done nothing wrong. I eventually built up my nerves to speak with the manager Avery who is the morning staff manager. I must say he was beyond amazing at recognizing my discomfort, apologizing, and acknowledging that he even notices that him along with the staff may have left me with a bad impression. I truly appreciate him for taking accountability, and that is the way to correct an issue following up with giving good service.
He advised that if I needed anything else to let him know, and he would take care of me. I overall will be going back to give them the opportunity to provide me with the experience I know they are capable of providing, because I have witnessed it with other customers.
We all can use growth, and I will continue to believe in us as...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI usually go through the drive through here and service is always with a smile. Tonight I was really disappointed, I planned to stop here with my daughter before an event and enjoy a coffee and conversation. We ordered our food and I went out to my truck to get some paperwork for my daughter. In that time she was told by the gal working ājust so you know we close in 8 minutes ā Well everywhere I worked or visit that you are dining you can at least finish eating what you ordered. She came to our table to remind us we have to leave because they are closed. Ridiculous! If this is policy then close your dining room at 7 and leave the drive thru open. Let me know before I order and give me a choice if I would be giving my business if going elsewhere which definitely would have left. These coffee shops arenāt cheap and Iām about the experience. This place is 1/4 away from the house but I doubt Iād return if this is how good paying and tipping customers are treated. I am respectful and would had left immediately after finishing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI arrived late afternoon after dropping my son off at his practice and forgot my wallet and phone at home. I had my emergency $50 bill in my car and needed to go back home to go back to work. I waited in a long just to order and pay in the drive thru. This is the first time I have ever used cash I always use my app to take advantage of my rewards. Unfortunately due to only having cash the cashier and manager were rude stating they were unable to accept it due to not having change and making repeat myself and explain again why I didnāt have another form of payment. The manager just stood there. So I drove off and went to the Dutch bros across the street and purchase a coffee there....
