Last Friday evening I ordered 6 tamales— 3 chicken, 3 pork. When I got home, which is about a 30-40 minute drive, I saw that I only received 5. Not a big deal, but I DID pay for it and I’m not a fan of getting ripped off. What I’m upset about is that I never received a call back to the voicemail I left as soon as I realized the problem. The nail in the coffin is that I called back just now to follow up and spoke to a girl who clearly didn’t give two farts about it. Word for word: “I wasn’t here that day so I can’t do anything about it” and “if I can’t prove it, there’s nothing I can do about it”. I have my receipt but, like I said, zero farts. Oh, I did get a “sorry you didn’t get your tamale” which was a weird thing to say for someone who sounded more irritated than anything else. I had to ask “what do you suggest I do then? I don’t really like giving away free money.” She suggested calling back tomorrow to speak to whoever else might have been working that day. I said “okay I’ll call back tomorrow then” and she literally hung up without another word.
I wish I was making this up. Pure rudeness and nonchalant attitude. I’m ALWAYS kind to people in the service industry because it’s been my job almost my entire working life. I would never allow my business to show that kind of face to customers.
It’s a shame because you can’t really get tamales around here. It was my first visit and I wanted to love it, but I’ll never go back again. I won’t be calling tomorrow unless I happen to lose some self respect by then, so you can keep the tamale you owe me AND my money.

Read moreI wish I could rate this place higher but they completely messed up my order. I ordered the fish tacos, I have no idea what they gave me. It looked like maybe 3 chicken enchiladas or something. My partner ordered a chicken burrito. They gave him a chicken and shrimp burrito. The size of it was good, but it the chicken had very little seasoning/flavor.
Another group of individuals in front of us also had issues with their order. Maybe it was just a bad day for them or maybe the person taking the order was new/didn’t know how to work the system.
I asked for a refund but they said they couldn’t provide one because I paid card. I’m sure the food is great, but it’s very upsetting as someone with dietary restrictions to take food home and bite into it and have it be Flat Wrong. :(
They did give me some churros for the inconvenience, though, which was neat and I appreciated that which is why I’m giving...
Read moreLast week was my first time visiting Cielito Lindo, I had heard a lot of good things from a large mix of sources so I had to give it a go.
I had the lingua burrito and it was fantastic. Great flavor, very generous serving size, not a long wait time, plenty of seating and the staff was very pleasant.
I had to give the atmosphere a 3 simply because of the proximity to the road - which is hard to avoid given the area. Just let it be known that if you will be eating at the picnic tables, you'll be talking over the road noise and fighting with the wind kicked up when the tractor trailers go by.
One more point, bring cash for tipping! They take cards but paying with card won't give you the option to tip. All in all this is a great little spot to grab lunch and I'm...
