I've been in town for a week and I have eaten here twice so far if that tells you anything. When you first arrive to the parking lot and open your vehicle door you are greeted to the smell of woodfired beef and meat. It made my stomach growl and mouth water before I even stepped foot inside. The decor, is authentic and what you would expect when you visit a Mexican restaurant. The staff is courteous, attentive, and friendly. I went with my wife and baby and they gave us a corner and a high chair out of the way. I appreciate little things like that and they understand it too. I went for lunch both times and arrived before the rush. My food came out within 10 minutes of ordering and it was hot and delicious. I ordered the chili relleno and it was bigger than my fist. It had some spice to it which wasn't over bearing and sear my taste buds off. The beans and rice were decently mild enough to give some to my baby. The tortillas (flour or corn) are handmade fresh and come out steaming hot. My wife ordered the Colorado burrito and it was bigger than my forearm and enough for her to have 2 meals. The enchiladas and tamales are packed with flavor and the meat is fork tender. If you arrive during the lunch rush it can get a little loud but that's to be expected. The music is obviously in spanish and the perfect ambiance to this amazing restaurant. If you haven't been here yet, you are missing out on an amazing dining experience. If I could give this place a Michelin Star...
Read moreComing from family that has been in the restaurant business for 35 years, one has certain expectations. I am giving this restaurant a generous 3 stars. The ambience was very kitschy and I loved the decor, seating, music etc. It was very traditional, so we expected the food to be the same.... The salsa was not homemade, and tasted like ketchup, tomato sauce, with some fresh onion amd canned tomatoes. I could not find any peppers in the salsa. The spiciness tasted like someone had thrown in some cholula or tapatio. I could also taste a lot of oregano. I ordered the beef fajitas and my husband ordered the Chile verde burrito, my daughter ordered the ceviche. We had to send the ceviche back. It was so salty as if a handful of salt had fallen into it, and it was very warm, Not refreshing and cold like traditional ceviche should be. When the fajitas arrived, I thought a mistake had been made. It looked like a guisado plate. Usually fajitas come on a sizzling platter, instead I was served a soggy, concoction that was swimming in oil or possibly butter. There was so much of the oil that I soaked a napkin and there was still a lot left on the plate. We sent ot back. The Chile verde was good but still...
Read moreDriving through town and decided to stop by here. Friendly employees. Beautiful decoration. Great music selection We ordered food for 6 people. Table had chips & salsa. The salsa was good. 2 kids meals. One was grilled cheese & other was a burrito. Wouldn't recommend the grilled cheese. I returned it because it was dry, hard, and only has 1 piece of cheese. My toddler didn't like it at all. The kids burrito my 3 yr old seemed to enjoy it. We ordered chicken. I ordered the flautas. I only ate 1. They were hard. The rice & beans are phenomenal. I'm very picky and loved them . Hubby ordered the Mexican burrito and loved it. My son ordered the guac burger and loved that as well. My daughter didn't like her burrito she said it was soggy. I ordered a sangria and didn't like it at all. It was watered down. Server came by once to check on us but I had to wave someone down for a refill. I think this place has potential . I would...
