Pretty tasty. A little cheaper than Sakura (our go to place). Tried this place out because I had a coupon. Friendly, cook was awesome. I hate when the waitresses hound you to pay to get you out of the table. I understand when its busy but it was only half full there was no one waiting for my seat. The coupon was on my phone the waitress took it up front and seemed bothered when I followed her it was just a little uncomfortable her walking though the restaurant with my phone, so naturally I followed. She seemed to be bothered by that too. Then sat there and stared at me when I filled out the receipt watching me fill it out like I wasn't going to leave her a tip. While she got me a soda and took my order, another girl removed my plates, she didn't do much else, no refills or anything. I still gave a 20% cash tip because to me it's the right thing to do although I felt uncomfortable with her staring at me the entire time like I did something wrong.
Anyway, The salad was great, dressing was more sweet than gingery. The soup was okay, not a LOT of flavor, but some. The mushrooms in it were raw, they taste better and give the soup a little more flavor if gently cooked. What I loved about this place is you don't only get fried rice, but lo mein as well which is awesome. Both were amazing. One problem being it was our first visit and I didn't know they put shrimp in the rice until I saw the cook mix it with the cooked egg. My husband hates shrimp so I got that, but someone with a mild seafood allergy might not be happy (although they should inform the cook anyway). Just that I think it should be told they mix it in there. A woman next to me ordered extra vegetables, the lady who wanted that tip so badly never wrote it down so she didn't get it and neither did my husband with extra rice. The steak was pretty good, it could have had a little more seasoning, but the ginger dressing for dipping was amazing so that made it perfect. The shrimp was completely bland. If it wasn't for the same dressing, I wouldn't have been able to eat it at all. The yum yum dressing was okay I normally get double at sakura, but I didn't touch this one. Funny because I actually hate Sakura's ginger dipping sauce and am in love with this one. Even put it on my rice. Vegetables were okay, bland and could have been cooked maybe 5 minutes longer. Overall, it was okay, but not as amazing as I'd hoped. If we're in the area, I MIGHT stop by again, otherwise, I most likely won't go...
Read moreSad to say this place has a become coin snatchers business. They practically forcing you to tip. Don’t get my wrong I tip when I feel like it is needed. Hell last time I tipped. Although it was more “how much you want to yo tip” not a “would you like to tip” question it rubbed me off the wrong way because you should have to ask the customer or make them feel force. Businesses like this seem to forget tipping is not an obligation but an option. It’s is not up to the customer to pay you extra just because you are doing the job you signed up to do. Anyways the food is good not the best tempura and it is pretty cheap so not a bad place but don’t harass customers. I came again to see if the same think will take place and it did. Not only that after I mentioned to the waiter, no thanks I will not be tipping today one she gave me and attitude and chased me as I was living and infront of everyone asked why didn’t you tip. Now idc what those ppl thought but it was just inconsiderate of her so at that point HELL NO! So I simply told her it’s an option not an obligation. I get times are tough but I paid for my service and you don’t know my financial situation at least I came to give service and if more people are deciding not to come because of this then maybe that place will shut down. But honestly don’t ever want to come back and if I ever do come back based on the waiter or how things are I will definitely go in with the mindset that I will not tip just because of this. 9/10 times will never...
Read moreYikes, where to start. So pretty good food for the price so there's no issue there (from a previous visit), the issue came when we called ahead of time to reserve a table and was told "just come in, we will have a table for you". Didn't ask how big our party is it the time of which of arrival. We show up with our party of 8 as planned and no table was ready or available. A number was given to us on a post it labeled "2". 10 minutes go by, they seat a couple of people that showed up after us that were smaller parties. 40 minutes into the wait, several slightly smaller groups of people were seated. When we asked why we weren't being seated, they said "because we have to wait until a big enough table was available". We stated that if they keep seating smaller groups then a big enough table will never be available. They said "well we can't stop sitting people". After an hour, they asked if we wanted to sit at 3 different tables, for our party of 8 people. We stated our displeasure with having us wait an hour for still not having a whole table to seat us. Their response, "sorry".
So despite us trying to set up a time for a reservation, we ended up waiting an hour for a chance to sit at three different tables. Did not feel like they cared as we talked and tried to reason with them and so will probably not be back to...
