SEPTEMBER 1st, 2022 UPDATE: - They lost a customer. I am removing stars due to a recent situation here. We ordered take out last night, I phoned in the order. I even had he gentleman repeat himself. All in all the order was repeated multiple times throughout the interaction. I ordered a Chicken Gyro Wrap and a Lamb Shish Wrap. I picked up the order and of course tipped ( I HATE THE IPAD TIP PRESSURE). I get home to find out they gave us a lamb gyro and a lamb shish. I call up and was told that i did order the lamb gyro! NO I DID NOT. The entire conversation was a mess. There was no compassion or even admission to the mistake ON THEIR END. No offer of refund, no remakes, nothing. I feel ripped off and duped that i even tipped. My wife does not like lamb, do you know what she ate? Left overs from the night before. You have robbed a pregnant woman of her dinner because of your incompetence. Now this isn't not the same gentleman we had the pleasure of being served by when we went last. This is the younger guy that did this. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because whilst I am upset over this, the food is still good. Maybe we'll come back in time. But not for a little while. Leaving old review below out of respect.
OLD REVIEW: We wanted Mediterranean for lunch and while we were on our way to our normal spot I decided to google what was near. We found Bosphorus. The menu is short, but everything on it is what you'll want to get. We decided on the cheese rolls, falafel wrap, and the lamb gyro. Unfortunately the lamb wasn't ready yet so I had to get the chicken gyro. That's ok, I understand. So what I didn't know, or am unfamiliar with the turkish cuisine, is that the gyro came deconstructed and with no pita. However what I got was a beautifully arranged platter, the cook on the chicken was excellent and all the ingredients were very fresh. The cheese rolls were good as well, had a nice funk from the feta and the fresh herbs brought it home. The falafel wrap was equally as good and massive! You could tell the falafels were fresh. Oh, and their tzatziki sauce is now one of our favorites. We will crave...
Read moreI order from here a decent amount but recent experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Order 3 items from here on doordash, they are closing within like 30-45 mins. Apparently 2/3 of the items were out of stock which is fine but it was never communicated and they still confirmed the order without letting me know all they had was baklava and not the other 2 items. Obviously would not have wanted to order from here if 2/3 of my order would not be fulfilled. Ended up spending $30 on 4 small pieces of baklava due to this and no communication from them or DoorDash
Pretty ridiculous
UPDATE/RESPONSE TO OWNER
I have no problem with items being out of stock whatsoever, what i do have a problem with is restaurants literally not having 2/3 of the order yet still proceeding to confirm and complete the order for a quick buck with no communication. Obviously i would have not wanted to still order from you guys if i knew i would only be getting 1/3 items i ordered, which is why you guys decided to just confirm the order and not communicate with me.
No, my apparent attitude is for both you (the restaurant) and doordash (the driver). You both messed up. You guys should have contacted me when you realized only 1/3 of my items could have been fulfilled, and the dasher should have contacted me when he realized the same. Instead you both decided to not let me know so you both could make a quick buck. Ill attach a picture but you guys set a 5.99 delivery fee plus with all the other fees from doordash a 9.99 item ends up being $28. Obviously i would have not agreed to that and would of cancelled my order altogether. Even with the doordash refund i got scammed between inflated tips and delivery fees from the original price of my order. You guys knew that so you did not reach out.
Its both you and doordash’s fault, but mostly yours for confirming the order in the first place when you knew you could not complete it and then leaving a snotty response for my completely valid frustration. Sorry the baklava is good but...
Read moreBosporus Mediterranean Cuisine is a family-owned and operated Turkish restaurant and it is a refreshing change from the chains! Delicious and succulent Turkish meals prepared with love and pride. Awesome and friendly customer service. My wife found the location after we finished working in Glassboro, New Jersey and very hungry. Simple but top notch appetizers, entrees, and desserts coupled with world-class customer service from beginning to end! Upon entering the establishment, we were immediately greeted by a very friendly host and server, Mustafa. He immediately seated us and assisted us with our meal selections.
For an appetizer, we had the Falafel- which was the best that we have ever had! For dinner, I ordered the Lamb/Beef Gyro and my wife ordered the Lamb Adana Kebab. Both meals were prepared and cooked to perfection. We also had freshly prepared In-House Bread and butter as well as Turkish soda and Turkish Black Tea. Our server, Mustafa was extremely friendly and he and one of the co-owners, Dilek made sure that we were properly attended to. The restaurant is small, cozy and it is kept clean as well as the bathrooms. The restaurant gets very busy with take out orders so arrive early to enjoy without the crowd. The husband co-owner, Nedret is the Master Chef who prepares all of their delicious, fresh, and fabulous food items. If they continue with sharing their love for Turkish foods and offering wonderful customer service- the restaurant will be in the Top 100 Turkish Restaurants. Try them... You will not be disappointed!
07/13/2025 I was in the area and I drove 30 minutes south after working in Deptford, NJ to get their delicious food. I had my wife call and place an order for takeout. Upon entering the establishment, I was immediately greeted by Kemal who got our order packaged for travel home 3.5 hours Northwest to Whitney Point, NY. I included images of the plated food on our...
