This place should do everyone a favor and plaster a no kids sign out front. We tried bringing my 3 year old and 10 month old here on a Tuesday night at 4:30 hoping for a quick family friendly meal since the patio was mostly empty. We were instantly met with aggressive and rude behavior. We were snappily told there were no high chairs available (we said no problem). We tried to get in an early order of pizza for the kids and were told (in a VERY rude tone) that there would be split charge fees if we didn't order an entree for every person there. Which we were content to do but we hadn't even been given the chance. Additionally as we were getting the kids adjusted to sitting down we were snapped at about our stroller and told it wouldn't be allowed folded up out of the way behind us (what would be tucked behind a planter and out of everyone's way) and that we MUST leave it outside of the gated patio on the sidewalk. At this point we decided we couldn't handle the aggression and hostility any longer and left. On our way out the owner started shouting at us that they were very accommodating they just weren't going to accommodate us. (After we explained we had a special needs child). We happily headed down the street to Barones and couldn't have had a more pleasant, welcoming, and family friendly experience. I will be never stepping foot inside...
Read moreWe live very near downtown Glen Ellyn. The restaurant is so cute, but the owners are so rude and inconsiderate. My daughter (13 yo) and I stopped by this afternoon to have a couple of cold drinks. I typically drink a few good quality beers... don't linger and pay up. The blonde short-haired woman who owns the place told us that they only serve beer and wine. I pointed to the bottles of iced tea and suggested my daughter would be fine with that... The owner said "the iced tea is only served with dinner." Essentially, they did not want to serve us... OR the want any children in the restaurant. The restaurant was empty except for one table. We have had dinner there in the past and it REALLY SUCKED. They serve expensive entrees served in plastic containers similar to a frozen dinner. My hunch is they are microwaving frozen entrees that were prepared weeks ago. The owner is very short sighted and ridiculously rude. I want to like the place because it's cute, but I cannot go there anymore. RUDE. RUDE. RUDE.
Do yourself a favor and go to MADE IN ITALY TRATORIA. It is phenomenal with great atmosphere, much much better food and a warm and...
Read moreOur time here was a night to remember for sure. The owner of this place made our unexpected Thursday night out the most special evening we have had in a while. It was so amazing, romantic and just the food just added to that. It was so amazing that I was so overwhelmed with emotion it made me sobb like a baby. The owner ended up ordering for us and he definitely read us perfectly because he chose the most perfect, delicious entrees. When presenting us our meals he took the basil plant that was growing right behind me and topped our dishes with it, how beautiful?! He also picked me a flower off one of their trees!! To top the night off he surprised us with a complementary tiramisu for dessert. This restaurant fully took us out of Illinois and made us feel like we were in our own little world. Beautiful establishment full of so much care. This was truly a rare...
