Daily Bread & Brew — Restaurant in Glen Rose

Grounded is a wonderful local coffee shop located in the city of Glen Rose, which was made well known by the Dinosaur Valley State Park and Riverbend Retreat Center. I cannot recommend enough taking the time to visit Grounded!

First off, it is a Christian business, which I am all for supporting!

Atmosphere: Very lovely. Lighting is just right, which can be hard to find if you have sensory processing issues. I've been several times, and each time the music playing is soft, but still loud enough to hear and enjoy. Seating may be limited during the Summer, but the majority of the time you will have somewhere comfortable to sit and enjoy your beverage or food. With armchairs to lounge in and chat with friends or family, it is overall a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere.

Staff/Service: Staff has always been nothing but polite, friendly, and professional yet still warm in demeanor. I've had small food items missing from an order only twice, and the staff was always very helpful in immediately getting me the delicious cinnamon cookies.

My last visit on February 4th, there was an awesome male staff member I don't recall the name of. He went above and beyond in not only checking our orders for the chicken salad sandwiches were satisfactory, but asking for feedback on things currently implemented and future implementation ideas. 11/10 customer service. Listened genuinely to my friend and I's input, and gave us fruit samples before we headed out.

Ps: They chill their salad bar plates, and the salad bar is to die for.

Food/Prices: I literally love their cinnamon (sugar?) cookies! Every drink I've had, both coffee and other options, has always been very good. Prices could be considered high to some, but in my opinion the quality outweighs any quantity attached. They offer homemade chicken salad sandwiches that rival what Magnolia sells at the Waco restaurant here.

I used to come here a lot with the previous owners, primarily for the amazing salad bar that you served yourself on. Went in today and was very sad to see that the salad bar was reduced to half the offerings and now you have to wait for someone to make it for you. Had a sandwich and the portion sizes and quality still seems to be there. I was also always accustomed to the previous owner and staff always stopping by to chat and make sure everything was good. Not once, the entire time that I was there did anyone other than the cashier, when I went up to order things, speak to me. I know change happens, just sad when it doesn't feel like a positive change. Fantastic coffee location. We frequent Glen Rose often enough that I’ve lamented their lack of a solid coffee place, so I was pleased after our visit of Grounded. Plenty of space (not evening including the study areas and meeting rooms outside the main cafe area). Solid coffee drinks with a good menu. Non-coffee drinks will rejoice with there other beverage options, and I love that they have a salad bar at lunch time—would make a great location for working an extended amount of time.
