Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Glendale

This was by far the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER I have ever had at Applebees! When we got there we waited for 10 min to be seated, mind you there was maybe 5 tables occupied (restaurant side) and 2 tables occupied at the bar with 5 servers standing around gossiping! The restaurant wasn’t busy!!! Finally we got sat down ordered our drinks and food! Everything was great until we got our mozzarella sticks. We had asked for ranch and here we waited what seemed like forever as our food was getting cold! We ended up asking from 3 different servers (including some sort of supervisor) and waited another 15 min. By then our mozzarella sticks were cold and not much interested in eating them. We then got our food! Everything looked great except they gave us broccoli instead of Mac n cheese like we asked for when ordering. No biggie! Server said she will bring it out. As we are eating our food we find hair in our salad. Husband was about to put it in his mouth when I immediately called the server over. She seen it and asked me what I wanted her to do. I asked her to replace it but I wanted it to go at no cost. (I should have just got up and left but it wasn’t the servers fault.) She said she will talk to the manager and get them right over. I told her that it wasn’t a big deal just get it taken care of and we can be squared away and that I also had been waiting for 15 min at this point for my side of Mac n cheese and I wanted it. Finally got it 5 min after I asked for it again. Mind you again the restaurant wasn’t busy for us to be waiting long for ranch or Mac n cheese. There were co workers yelling at each other by the bar so I’m sure they had time to bring me my Mac n cheese. After this I still waited another 20-25 min for my bill in which I ended up paying for the full amount even after the manager supposedly fixed our bill with an employee discount of 15%. What bothered me the most is that the manager had no balls to come to our table and apologize or even come talk to us to see how we are doing! No discount, no apology , no customer service! They should just shut this location down or have new management ! I’m not the only one that has complained about this manager in the last month for not doing anything but being lazy and letting this place go! I would suggest no one to go here as you find hair in your food and no apology to make it right!

It's an Applebee's so I don't expect a 5 star restaurant, that being said it was an all around good dinner, little to no wait time from being seated to our food coming out. We did visit on a Thursday evening around 9 pm but this let us catch hour hour. We ordered the endless wings, riblets and chicken strips and only made it through one order! Eyes larger than stomach obviously and portions are a fair size. I've eaten at this particular location over the years and they have always had someone working the bar (and servicing tables) who goes above and beyond to make you happy. You want double sauces..done. you want candy from another drink in your drink..done. you want to take home your plate from all you can eat...not allowed but you know what, here's a to go container anyway. Wink wink. Not to mention that I have never seen the night shift employees yawning or in a dull mood, they are literally amped and happy every time I have ever been. We sat at a hightop near the bar (because I'm not a fan of the booths personally- unless there's a day time rush) that's just my preference. You can see a TV from anywhere that you sit if you need a form of entertainment. This place isn't high on my resturant list just because there are so many other places I'd like to try all over the valley but if someone wants to go to Applebee's in general, this is the one I stear them to because I simply enjoy the warm personality working behind the bar. You will never have a bad experience at this location that they don't bend over backwards to rectify. Atmosphere is bland-on purpose to appeal to the majority. They still have red, blue and yellow crayons and a kids menu to color on...non-age descriminant. Clean bathrooms. This location in particular gets very busy during the day but starts to thinned out after typical dinner time...like 7 or 8pm. Happy hour specials were not super exciting but there was a handful of different drinks on there, a limited variety of sorts and...

I had a horrible experience here recently. The punk kids who work there were extremely disrespectful. I came in and let them know we have a party of about 10 coming in for a birthday dinner. She didn't even want to make eye contact with me as she told me with an attitude it would be a 1 hour and half wait time. She made it clear she didn't want me there but I said politely I will wait. I had to wait for my friends anyway. About 20 minutes pass and I get a txt saying your table is almost ready. I gave it about 5 to 10 minutes and went in find out more. She was rude again and told me there was no such thing no. I said well I received a txt. She looked it up and said ok yeah you did but it's an hour and half wait time. Okay that's fine even though it had then already been a half hour. We went in after another hour or so goes by and still even though we see many servers, little to no people even there and OPEN tables we were told it's still going to be another hour and a half. So yes, we were not happy. We had a child with us who was hungry as well. And the other girl said oh well you don't have to have an attitude. We had been very patient, so it was ridiculous. We asked to speak to a manager. We then were greeted with a very nice woman who said she would take care of us. They are short staffed apparently. No excuse for being rude and basically turning us away by keeping us waiting for hours. Letting others go ahead of us when can clearly see open seats for us to sit and be served. I had never been turned down a table like that before and refused service. We waited about another 15 minutes and then finally sat down. Hardly anyone there at 9 o clock at night. They refused to sing Happy Birthday to our birthday girl but we did get a brownie and ice cream.
