Jaw-dropping-wow! Those are the first words that popped into my head :-) Items ordered: Chicken Shawarma wrap, Beef Shawarma wrap, Loaded fries.
You know that moment when you bite into something and your mind is bloooooown? Then you look across the table at your partner and they have that same holy $!*! look on their face because their mind is also blown? That's what happened here :-) Oh feliz sábado!
First of all, the space is perfect. Love the ambiance and it's super clean. The kitchen is exceptionally clean so bravo on that! Secondly, I am one of the few people who does not like potatoes, however, the loaded fries were so flavorful. Perhaps what swayed me into eating the fries is the fact that there was NO GREASE at all! Seriously, zero..cero...null (mind starting to blow on just one bite). Then, the main event (my palate was anticipating and hoping for more OMG moments with the head nod thing you do when you taste amazing food, you know what I mean, right?) Yes, the wraps. I mean WOW! My chicken was cooked to absolute perfection. Beautifully caramelized bits of thinly sliced chicken with a lovely garlic sauce, pickles to throw a bit of texture & added an acidic kick. Finally the wrap itself, PERFECTLY browned (again, not a single drop of grease).
The Beef Shawarma, according to my partner, was equally electric and I believe his eyes rolled back into his head for a hot minute :-) Melt in your mouth marinated beef with a tantalizing tahini sauce, and guest starring onions, tomatoes, and perfectly placed pickles adding that acidic kick-yum!!. His wrap also browned to perfection and, you guessed it! Not a drop of grease. In my opinion, having food that you don't regret eating later is KEY! We had to force ourselves to eat only half so we could, once again, enjoy this flavor journey for dinner. Apologies that I do not have any pictures to share. As soon as the aroma of Mediterranean flavors hit me, I was pretty much head down as if I hadn't eaten for days. I think I said out loud, "Breathe!" Lol The entire staff and service was above and beyond. Welcoming, warm, friendly, and easygoing. I can see why they were voted best in Phx and best in Az. Awesome, Asombroso, Unglaublich! Needless to say, I definitely recommend and for certain, five stars all around~ ☆☆☆☆☆ Boom! &...

Read moreI recently had the absolute pleasure of dining at Charcoal Grill, and I can confidently say it was the best Mediterranean food I've ever tasted. The high standard I hold for cuisine was more than exceeded.
I walked into the restaurant and was immediately greeted by a nose-pleasing, mouth-watering aroma. The name "The Charcoal Grill" was a dead giveaway; you could smell the smoky goodness from a mile away.
The rice was cooked to perfection, seasoned just right, and the spices were spot on. The chicken shawarma was incredibly tender and juicy, freshly cut from the spit. The authentic spices were simply divine. The hummus was made in-house, bursting with freshness. The naan, also homemade, was perfectly chewy and grilled to perfection. And to my surprise, they had homemade toum, a garlicky sauce that elevated every bite. The toum was expertly balanced, adding just the right amount of flavor without overpowering the dish.
With each bite, I couldn't help but hum in satisfaction. I even had to tell the attentive and informative waiter twice how impressed I was. While they have a full bar, I opted to pass on this occasion.
As you walk in, you're greeted by the sight of succulent beef and chicken shawarma rotating on a rotisserie. I neglected to mention the Mediterranean charcoal grill salad, which was incredibly delicious. It was a feast of fresh cucumbers, bell peppers, olives, onions, feta cheese and crisp lettuce, all tossed in a tangy Italian dressing. There was so much from one order, I could easily have three meals from all of it.This hidden gem was a true find! I'm already planning my next visit let's...
