Clean Eatz Cafe — Restaurant in Glendale

I wanted to like this place. I really did. Tonight was my first and only time visiting and I had high hopes. I'm into health and fitness so when this restaurant popped up on Google Maps I was excited. I'm sorry to say, it was a letdown.

First, when I walked in there was no one manning the front counter. No one greeted me and it took about 2 or 3 minutes for someone to come out from the back.

The guy took my order and it came out fairly quick. I got the salmon wrapnwith the mac and cheese side. It sounded good in concept but in reality, it wasn't. The whole thing was very bland. It just had no flavor. The mac and cheese had a watery cheese sauce on it that tasted processed. On the menu it said the mac was multigrain. It looked like regular old semolina pasta you'd find on your grocery shelf. The wrap was also bland. The salmon was... Weird. Another reviewer said it looked like cat food. I don't own a cat but when I took a closer look that's what I imagine cat food looked like. I couldn't finish the other half after that.

I noticed there was this guy there in the dining room who was on his phone. At first, I thought he was just another customer but upon further observation, he appeared to be the owner. While I had no direct contact with the guy, I agree with other comments that he shouldn't be in the service industry. Why so I say that? Because a savvy business owner would have come over and asked me how my meal was. It's a perfect opportunity to forge relationships with the public and your customers. Good business people care about their customers and what they think and use feedback to improve their service. This guy is not customer oriented.

I was driving home, hungry, and wondering what I would make tonite and I was not feeling very much like cooking. I looked to my right and saw a new place had opened up!!

I made a quick choice to turn into the parking lot. The owner was very nice and answered all my many questions on how to heat the meals ( since I didn’t want to dine in). He explained all the meals they had and how they were organized in the cold freezers. But they also have warm meals for dining in.

I picked out 2 low carb chicken entrees and a low carb cauliflower based pizza. Got home, heated up the chicken meal that had a blend of quinoa, brown rice, julienned tender carrots and Edemame . It only took 3 minutes to heat in the microwave (this made me happy! )

And WOW 🤩 delicious !!!! I was so pleasantly surprised! The chicken is moist !! Finally a chicken meal with moist chicken ! Excellent blend of flavors. Not at salty, just perfect!

Lately, I’ve been trying different home delivery meal kits and within a few weeks, my husband and I are usually disappointed. They are salty and dry chicken and very time consuming requiring chopping and cooking. The ones that come prepared are not to our liking and the others are boring.

This is why I am SO thrilled that we will have healthy delicious meals and the variety of available meals is tremendous! They have so many Low Carb or Keto meals to choose from. We will definitely not get bored! And they change up the meals often.

This evening, I heated up the entree and put it over chopped romaine salad. Amazing!! and so filling !! I can’t wait to order more meals for the week.
