Pacific Seafood Buffet, Phoenix: A Must-Try Recommendation

Pacific Seafood Buffet, Phoenix: A Must-Try Recommendation

I hadn't been to a buffet restaurant since COVID and was wondering what changes I might find at this one. Well upon entering I was struck by how bright and attractive and big it was inside! Not at all like so other buffet restaurants I been to in the recent past. Then I took some time to just peruse the many stations all around the restaurant which took more time than I expected because there is so much different food! I saw they even have some things I had never seen in any oriental food like frog legs, chicken feet and squid. Not a fan of any of that, but I'm sure many of the oriental people I saw eating there enjoyed them. šŸ˜‹ Every one of the MANY things I tried was so well prepared and delicious! The young woman who was serving us was very friendly and welcoming. I was wanting to get some of the apple pie they had for dessert, but there was only some crusty pieces left so I asked her when they might have more. I could see her informing the people in the kitchen that they needed pie and she told me how long it would be till it was done baking. About 15 minutes later she actually came by our table just to let me know that the pie 🄧 was now out! Very nice of her. When we went to pay, I learned that they offered a 10% senior discount that they had taken off automatically from the bill. My wife and I had this fantastic lunch for under $28 for the two of us! Can't beat the value of that in today's world of ever increasing prices! šŸ‘ All in all, one of my now favorite restaurants! šŸ˜‹

Weekend buffet had an amazing assortment of seafood and they understandably charge more, but if you really want to dive into seafood you should definitely go then. I didn't limit myself to the seafood though, although I did lean heavily in that direction and also opted for the more exotic items than more mainstream buffets would have. These were some of my choices: crab legs, clams, tilapia, frog legs, crayfish, shrimp, sushi, chicken wings, octopus, sesame bean paste balls, little banana leaf packets with rice and bean filling, all manner of vegetables, different soups, and so much more and you don't have to eat again for the rest of the year ;) The picture shows my first plate. The workers were always busy filling and freshening the steam bins, the sushi chef and barbecue stations were filled with appetizing treats. And servers will bring you your beverage choices and keep removing your empty plates, so make sure you tip these hard workers as they add to the experience. The well lit and modern buffet was efficiently arranged and tables and booths were not crammed together, but what ruined our meal atmospherically is that a nearby booth had screaming cranky babies and very young children. Management would do well to reserve a corner area for those coming in with children of that age as it was incredibly disruptive. They also should do a better job of labeling the items on the buffet that would be unfamiliar to many people--people do like knowing what they are eating.

I just went to this restaurant with my girlfriend because we were curious to try it. I didn't expect much for the food, it's a seafood buffet after all. Some of the food was edible, other dishes I couldn't even stomach a bite. I figured that it was just my taste clashing with the meal, but when I got sick mid meal and had to go to the filfthy restroom to try to get whatever it was out of my system that's when I started to get upset. So I got my ticket and asked for a manager because I didn't want to pay for what just sat in my stomach like a rock until it came up not 5 minutes later. I said this to the manager but also that I was totally willing to pay for my girlfriend's meal and my soda. I didn't want to make a scene or make this seem like it was a huge deal. It honestly wasn't, but the managers total lack of empathy and care for what I had to say mad me upset. He made feel like I was lying to try to get a free meal. He also "couldn't" take my meal off the tab but instead took my meal off the tab and charged me a kids meal. I don't know how that makes any sense at all to him. But the staff was not friendly and it felt like I was being talked about behind my back. So I highly do not recommend...
