Samurai Sam's — Restaurant in Glendale

So, I went in there to get a bowl for me and my boyfriend. The girl on register with glasses was nice, very sweet— but there was a bit of an issue. I ordered a (word for word) “vegetarian veggie bowl as a combo”. Then got another spicy vegetarian bowl combo for my boyfriend with her assistance. She replied with “with an egg roll?” And I replied yes, under assumption that it was a veggie egg roll, since I mentioned “vegetarian” three times and have previously had veggie egg rolls here. When I got my food however, there was only one combo, because she didn’t ring the other meal as a combo. The bowls were still filled with water too. It literally looked like soup. Then, when I took a bite of the egg roll, i immediately taste meat. I go back up to the counter, and tell the other blonde girl “um.. this roll has meat?” And she just goes “yes”. I just walked back to my seat and said “…okay”. And she walked away rolling her eyes. But, how rude and un-accommodating! I could get sick like that! No apology, no offer for maybe a cookie instead since I payed $22 with a tip. But it’s so ridiculous! I said I was vegetarian THREE times and they gave me a meat egg roll and soggy noodle water.

Worst Samurai Sams ever, don’t go here ever unless you want to get sick from health...

I went to Samari Sam's first the first time in years. I now recall why I do not frequent Samari Sam's.

The employee was very nice, the food was fresh, hot, and fast.

I was excited to see the shishito pepper appetizer. The sign said it had a garlic sauce on it, which it did not. But that's ok. However, only one pepper was fully chared. The rest were only chared a little bit and basically raw. If they were fully cooked would have been a ten.

The grilled egg roll was decent. The sweet and sour sauce was almost sugary enough to be candy. The hot mustard had zero flavor. If the sauces were better, there would have been no complaints.

The teriyaki chicken with vegetables was a nice size. Both cooked fresh and hot and tasted of char. But the teriyaki sauce was also syrupy sweet and not good. The condensation from the hot food created a pool of liquid in the container that spilled into the bag and made a mess and made the fresh crispy vegetables soggy by the time I had them. Luckily, the pool kinda washed off all the teriyaki sauce so I was still able to eat my food.

I'm sad to say I won't be back mainly due to the three sauces. I would return for the freshness, speed, and customer...

As of right now I have to say my service was great... the girl that took my order was amazing... my order was to go... 2 bowls exactly the same, you would think simple... I just got home... and my bowl is wrong his is perfect (aside for have a light amount of veggies and meat but this may be normal) so I will call when they open and see if I can get this corrected... Not the best first experience... but people deserve 2nd chances... ☺

Update: The manager Cody is replacing MY bowl whenever I go back... I was able to reach him this evening... He was very apologetic and felt bad about giving me a bad first experience... He was very understanding 😞😯😢 So now I feel bad because I know what he looks like lol so I will DEFINATELY go back a hopefully it will be better... also these bowls are "healthy" bowls which is why the meat and veggies appear to be small to me... I'm not a healthy food person so I'm glad I get...
