Anyone who thinks this is the best donut shop around hasn't tried too many places. Yes, the staff were nice and friendly is about the best thing I can say. And the cronut was okay, but they ruined it with too much hard glaze that kept cracking and falling off and getting in my hair and all over the floor. I wish it was just the powdered sugar like on top, I hated that hard cracking glaze. But I came in specifically to try the savory ham and cheese croissant as that's my favorite thing to get in a donut shop and a friend said that her husband loves them here.. So I decided to try it even though their prices for the ham and cheese are higher than everywhere else. Yuck. THEY DON'T USE REAL CHEESE. Cheap quality of ingredients. They heated this up for me and I took the rest of my order home. I was eating my ham and cheese while still in the store and the bad flavor made me ask what kind of cheese they use in them and sure enough they said American. I should have asked before I bought it but I never dreamed a place would use American cheese slices. I try very hard in my life to NOT eat fake processed "cheese food". I don't eat nacho sauce either. I get the double ham without cheese at In-n-Out because they only offer American cheese. Since I had also purchased a turkey and cheese one for later, I asked what that came with and was told Swiss. Got it home and looked at it and couldn't believe it. It's NOT what I would call Swiss but just the white colored version of fake processed cheese food, like American. And even worse, it. wasn't baked in with the turkey during the cooking of the croissant. It's basically one of their plain croissants sliced after baking with a small piece of deli sliced turkey and the slice of processed cheese food stuck inside. I have never wanted my money back from a donut shop before today, but I sure did. I hope the owners read this because these were the most expensive ($6) and the worst I ever had. If you want to try some good savory croissants around here I recommend Miss Donut and Bagel in LaVerne or Munchkins in Covina ($4.75 for better) if you want friendly service AND good tasting savory croissants. Now it's true that some of the donuts looked interesting 🤔 and I might like to try like the Nutella or Samoa or S'mores. Unique kinds from the offerings of other places near here. But if they have the hard glaze like the raspberry cronut I already tried I would be skipping them and I would look carefully and choose more wisely next time and ask questions beforehand about the cheese next time. Maybe the egg breakfast croissant is better but it's not cheap. And I bet if you forget to specify you're going to get fake cheese on the breakfast one too that costs $10. I saw a choice of American, Swiss, pepper jack, and cheddar available for the breakfast sandwich. I would go with the cheddar but ask first to make sure that it's not fake cheese too. I'm giving two stars because they were nice and I noticed dog friendly but the food would rate 1 star or zero for me. Update to respond to owner response which I just noticed. WOW 😳 😲. Don't know what you think you had me on camera doing that's so unusual, but if you think that a first time customer is "bothering" you to ask about the products and prices and the question "how long have you been here?", Then maybe I should revise my comments about the nice staff. You're being defensive. I didn't say the parking situation was your fault. Google reviews asks us about the parking situation and I gave an honest comment. You know damn well as I do that American cheese contains no cheese whatsoever unless you have never read the ingredients of American "cheese", and so there's nothing wrong with me calling it fake. I try not to eat it, and my bad for not asking first. But I would never have thought to ask if the turkey croissant was really baked in or if you just slice open a plain croissant and stick some turkey...
Read moreCame in a couple of weeks ago and grabbed a couple dozen donuts to give to the firefighters helping with the bobcat fire so close to our house...but I also got to try a dozen for myself thanks to Yelp! I can't say enough about how warm, welcoming and so friendly the staff were during my visit!! They were so kind that they will definitely be my go-to place for donuts! And they also have plants too (via Leaf & Lady)!!
The shop is easy to find in a shopping center with plenty of parking. They're doing great with the Covid safety measures, everyone with masks and social distancing and hand sanitizer etc.
Now for the donuts - ok YUMMM!! Seriously...I loved the one with the fruity pebbles on top but can we talk about their cake donuts for a minute?? I NEVER go for cake ones but these were insanely good! Loved them!! And there was a flaky, croissant-like raspberry one too that was awesome!
Great donuts, fantastic people and lovely plants! Will...
