West Coast Cheesesteaks — Restaurant in Glendora

The hype is real! I called in my order around 12:30 and they said it would be ready in 15 mins, so I show up around 12:45 and was greeted and told my order would be ready shortly. No big deal waiting a couple of extra minutes, but then they told me why. I ordered a cheesesteak with everything but the meat on the side so i can spilt with my GF. I love onions and she doesn’t. I love mushrooms and she doesn’t. She loves cheese and I’m Asian, so have to go light on the cheese. You get the picture. Anyway, i guess they made the first sandwich with cheese, so they had to remake it. Instead of selling the sandwich with cheese to the next person, they explain the error and said they wanted me to have both sandwiches due to their mistake. Score for me and my GF and kudos for not just selling the other sandwich to the next guy. They really are serious about making each sandwich to order here. The next person would have ever known it wasn’t their sandwich! I’m sure everyone orders their sandwiches with cheese and they just needed to add the veggies to order, but not here. The sandwiches are huge and definitely shareable if you order a side order or two. On this occasion, I ordered the tater tots and I have to say they were delicious as well. They give you a huge order of tots that are shareable as well. I have to say I’m happy i had the extra sandwich, because half was not enough for me. I probably ate about 3/4 of a sandwich and 1/2 the tots while my GF ate 1/2 the sandwich and tots, so order and extra side if your sharing or go with two sandwiches.

Now for the food. I think the bread makes the sandwich. It’s soft and chewy and holds up to the meat and cheese. The meat itself was delicious. Not fatty or grissly and very tender. I don’t think you need to order extra meat, although they have that option. The poblano cheese was delicious. I really couldn’t taste the poblano on the sandwich with cheese on it l, but when I dipped the tots in the side order of cheese for the second sandwich, the flavors were much more obvious and the sauce poblano flavors really popped. I put all the veggies on my half and they flavors really go well together. If I ever decide to get my own sandwich, I think I will order with everything on it so I can just bite into right away. If you are a newbie like me, try everything on the side and experiment like I did.

I had the chance to try West Coast Cheese Steaks recently, and I have to say—the food was really good. I ordered the large cheesesteak with extra provolone cheese and extra angus steak, and it absolutely hit the spot.

What stood out most to me was the quality of the ingredients. It's clear they use high-quality steak, real cheese, and fresh-baked hoagie rolls that are made in-house. You can actually taste the difference, and that level of care and quality is something I really appreciate in a spot like this.

One thing to note: by the end of the day, they do sometimes run out of certain veggies and cheese sauces. It would be great if those were still available later in the evening, but I understand—it’s tough to prep when certain items sell out.

Also, as they keep getting more popular, I think it would be a nice bonus to see the interior of the store get a bit of a remodel or upgraded design. It’s definitely not something that affects my rating or the food at all—just something cool that would make the place feel even better to be in.

All in all, this was the best cheesesteak I’ve had in my entire life. I really hope they keep doing what they’re doing and maintain that same level of quality...

Let’s start with I drove 45 minutes to get to WCP. The first time I came the customer service was great and the cheesesteak came out hot and fresh.

I decided to return. This time only to be extremely disappointed. i ordered “the big one” with half cheddar half poblano. The texture of the poblano sauce needs some major reconstructing because it’s disgusting. I immediately went back and asked for just cheddar.

They were polite about remaking it after the chef gave me an entire speech on why they don’t mix cheeses. The 2nd sandwich came out worse than the first. Smh. It was so runny the entire thing was soggy. And this was upon me walking from the restaurant to my car to open it.

Defeated and annoyed i just considered it a loss and a lesson learned that i won’t be back.

I also complained about them putting the cheese sauce at the top (it sits on the bread) instead of in the sandwich they try and tell you it’s mixed in which it isn’t. They scrape the meat from the grill then pour the sauce ON TOP making for an even soggier mess.
