My friend and I kept seeing this place on tik tok, so we decided to give it a chance. We are from the area and know the shopping center where it is located all too well. When we walked inside it looked very nice and loved seeing the decor and long poster of the Mexican Lotteria images on the walls. We are seated to our seats and there is only 1 or 2 other sets of people in the restaurant (very empty) for a Friday lunch hour. The waitress only one there, comes and just gives my friend and I attitude and just seems very unpleasant and unserviceable. We stay anyway despite of that since we really wanted to give this place a try. We place our order but it felt uncomfortable even placing it as the waitress continues to be unpleasant. We get our food which actually and impressively arrived fast. My friend ordered the torta and the michelada. I ordered the beef fajitas and a Diet Coke since I’m on keto. When my friend got her michelada the waitress had it brimming overflowing and spilled a lot of it on our table. We didn’t mind that as we saw it was accidental and promised to come back and clean it or provide us with napkins but never did. The substance which I’m guessing was chamoy, left the entire glass very sticky and the table for my friend. Her $23 torta which is what we kept seeing in tik tok wasn’t cut in half which made it hard to eat, had a plastic around it and got stuck with the torta so it would have pieces of paper stuck on it without knowing. Not the business! My $22 beef fajita plate well what can I say, had carrots and celery and tomatoes in it with some kind of sauce smh! This is not Mexican food! There isn’t a place I have been to that has ever done this! The food is over priced for what it is and what they give you. There was no absolute spice of fajita and barely any meat in it. So disappointed! I’ve had different regions of Mexican food and none have served fajitas with celery, carrots and sauce! The entire time the waitress doesn’t come and check on us but only to give us the check! An older couple comes in and is seated behind our booth and she immediately tends to them and gives them complimentary chips and salsa! Btw we didn’t even get chips and sals! At this point my friend and I look at each other and we are flabbergasted at how unprofessional, unserviceable and how outright this waitress discriminated against us for being two younger women! There are so many options for better service and tasting actual Mexican food in the Glendora area than this place! I highly recommend Mauricio’s down the street or even in West Covina, which is one of my favorite El Pescador if you’re looking for actual Mexican food! I can see why it was...
Read moreMi Sabor adds a fresh change to the Mexican restaurants in Glendora. (Frankly, there aren't many (if any) that are good).
Mi Sabor (My Taste/Flavor) opened during the pandemic and is thriving. How about that for a testament to their food? This is our go-to for good, authentic Mexican cuisine. We especially love the fact that they offer vegetarian and vegan options, such as the Impossible tacos, Impossible torta, potato tacos (yum), cheese enchiladas, chile rellenos, and of course the usual staples like rice and beans. The street tacos are legit and they add pickled onions which balance the salty taste perfectly, combined with the lemon/lime wedge. You can choose how many tacos you want per order. Keep in mind they use the traditional small tortillas, so order up if you're hungry. Also, the order doesn't come with rice and beans. The dinner plates do come with rice and beans, but not all entrees do. Best to ask so side orders can be placed if needed.
Aside from the yummy food, the margarita flight us delicious. It comes with a traditional, strawberry and mango margarita. If you like mimosas, try the ginormous mimosa (El Toxico, I think). It includes a full-size bottle of sparkling wine! They offer a giant michelads as well. Again, be ready for the booze to hit you soon enough.
The service can be a bit slow depending on how busy they are. We were there on Cinco de Mayo and it was a hot mess. People were leaving bc they weren't getting seated after thr estimated wait time. If it's a smaller party, the wait is better but large parties beware, especially on busy days. However, the food is worth the...
Read moreLoved this place had such a great experience. Today however will be the last time I ever come or recommend this place. I took my cousin here for her 21st birthday because of the giant wine glass mimosa. The food was great but the service was far from great, I left without a debit card. You all know the hassle it is to have to wait for a new debit card to come especially going into a weekend. The worst part of this experience was the fact that the waitress was pretty much implying that my cousins stole my debit card, never once did I imply and even told the waitress I thought she stole just that she was careless with it or misplaced it. The waitress said she bought my debit card back to the table with the receipt but she didn’t and kept telling my to check my purse. What did I have to gain by waiting an hour for the manager to see the cameras that apparently stopped working a week ago. I just wanted my card. Now my mood is sour and wasted over an hour of of my cousins birthday for nothing. The manager was not much help either, they both pretty much made myself and my cousins feel at fault and further by telling me I should go to the bank 30mins before they close to get a replaced card and money since I need it and for you to say I don’t know what to tell you, lock your card, really that is not what you tell a customer. If you visit this place pay with cash so you don’t have this...
