This was my second time visiting Moni's. First time I ordered pizza which I thought was edible but mediocre. This time I decided to try pasta instead. Ordered the seafood fettuccine which came with shrimp, scallops, and crab. Not a scallops fan so I asked to sub chicken for the scallops. In my mind the restaurant is winning. Chicken is cheaper than scallops although I likely be charged the same menu price which was $18.95. Placed my order over the phone and arrived at the restaurant for pick up. The bill total was nearly $25. I handed my credit card before processing what he said. While waiting for my order I questioned the server as to why the bill was so expensive. He explained that they charge to change ingredients. Then the young lady who took my order passes by and says "yeah when you sub chicken we still have to charge you bc we cut a whole chicken breast. So it's not really a substitution." Then server even doubles back to try to convince me that costs have gone up everywhere. And he just spent $80 at Applebee's. Whatever....I take my food and head home. Now I totally understand prices going up and just accept the situation for what it is. But when I get home and open the pasta there is IMITATION CRAB (plenty of it), 4 shrimp, and maybe 1/3 of a chicken breast. How am I paying $25 for IMITATION CRAB??!! If your saying costs are going up then at least give me quality product. Then 4 shrimp!! What seafood? I will not patronize this business again.

Second time coming here, I got the stuffed mushrooms and garlic cheese bread to start, the shrimp scampi and the lemoncello cake with a cappuccino. Very delicious. Staff greeted me immediately upon entering, their sweet tea was just sweet enough not overly sweet. Appetizers came out hot but able to eat right away, nice and cheesy. The entree did not come too quickly just as I was finishing up with my appetizer which is great! I love that they waited because sometimes places will bring your entree when you're still working on your appetizer and your food gets cold, so I definitely appreciated that it came just in time. The lemoncello cake was magnificent. Creamy, sweet with a little tang and moist. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting a quick lunch bite or even for family.

Tried once before through Doordarsh. Pizza tasted like it had been sitting under a heatlamp for hours. Gave it another shot. Sat down to eat today. Server was nice. Food was not. Extremely under seasoned. Chicken was over cooked. The appetizer sampler came out 86 calamari for some reason. I took the food to go to have my wife taste it just so I could show her why we won't be going there again. They called a wine blend marsala "Italian gravy".....unacceptable. Not to mentio, while there, the credit card machines went down and I had to walk to thw gas station at the end of the strip for cash. Not necessarily their fault, however it adds to the negative experience.

I cannot for the life of me figure out why the ratings are so high for this place. Not only do I feel disappointed, but completely robbed as well.

Our very first visit. We walked in and ordered to-go. The atmosphere is wonderful. Tastefully decorated, cozy and welcoming. We browsed the menu and proceeded to place our order. One order of shrimp alfredo $13.95, one shrimp alfredo + chicken $13.95 + $???, kids spaghetti $???, calamari $8.95, 2 garden salads $1.95 ea, a ceasar salad $4.95 and 1 pc extra bread $??? The ?? Are there because I realized we never received a receipt. But based on my math, the extra pc of bread and added chicken was about $10.

I asked if the entrees came with a salad and bread. The man taking our order said no salad, but each dish comes with bread. 2 people were sharing one dish, so we asked for one extra piece of bread.

It's about a 30 second drive home. When we got home, excited to dig in, we were met with instant disappointment. Firstly, I am not understanding why ceasar dressing and croutons justifies $4.95 for a salad, when the garden salad with veggies is a mere $1.95. There wasnt even any fresh parm cheese on it! The lettuce was brown in all the salads. There was WAY too much dressing (and I like it heavy!). We opened the calamari which was very obviously frozen B.S. If you put them beside a carton of Sonic onion rings, you wouldnt be able to tell which was which. No flavor at all; deep fried rubber bands.

We then realized that we were only given 2 rolls. TWO. Notice I said ROLLS. We should have had 4. Again, frozen B.S. They were literally cold to the touch. Cold as in out of the refrigerator! The pasta was piping HOT! Still hopeful and hungry, we started in. The shrimp, mixed in the pasta (not on top), still had the tails on. Who does that? The alfredo sauce was just thicker than water. The pasta noodles were overcooked and mushy. The shrimp was GROSSLY overcooked. Hard, chewy, rubbery. There was absolutely NO FLAVOR to the sauce. NONE.

I can only assume other reviewers saying this is "authentic" italian have either been paid to leave a review or have never stepped foot outside of Red Oak, TX. 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, a kids meal and 3 salads was $60. SIXTY. DOLLARS. I am happy to pay that for top notch food, but when more than half of it goes in the trash and we all go to bed far from full and extremely dissatisfied, I call that being RIPPED OFF....

I wouldn't know if the food is good or not. I called to place a delivery order and asked do they deliver in Desoto the girl response was I don't think so. She ask another lady and she said its has to be 5 mi. I thank the girl and hang up the phone. I look on google maps to see what the distance was and it says 3.5mi from my house, I call back and this time a man answer I tell him that I just called about making a delivery to Desoto and I see I'm only 3.5mi from your location. The man says we don't deliver to Desoto at all I inform him on what one of his co workers said about the 5 mi and he gets tongue twisted and says we just stop delivering to Desoto a few months ago. Which one is it do you deliver 5mi from your location or do you just not want to deliver in Desoto. I'm truly pissed! I just had my son and unfortunately I can not drive anywhere because of my difficulties during labor. Never will this place get my...
