Where to even begin?
To call this place a gem feels like an understatement - it’s an undiscovered treasure, an oasis where culinary dreams come true. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with a level of service so impeccable, it feels like the very essence of hospitality. And then, the food - oh, the food. Where do I start with that?
Unlike the lackluster “Donkeys” from Camden, here every bite feels like an epiphany. The flavors are alive, bursting with an enchanting harmony of spices that dance upon your tongue in a symphony of sensation. We began with the Pepper Steak, a masterpiece of tenderness, the meat so perfectly cooked it melted effortlessly in your mouth. The Chimichurri Steak? A bold, fiery counterpart, with every bite sending waves of smoky, herby heat that lingered on your lips and soul. It was like tasting a tender fire in the most beautiful way. With a beautiful side of rice with plantain, you simply cannot go wrong here.
Alas, how could I forget? The Birria Tacos were unveiled first and believe me - time itself paused for a moment. The tortilla - fluffy, golden, with the perfect crisp around the edges - held a treasure inside. The Birria, slow-cooked to perfection, was the epitome of tender, savoury heaven. Each taco was a burst of rich, umami goodness, the kind that makes you wonder if you’ve ever really eaten until now. Dipped in the rich, deeply spiced consommé, the tacos practically whispered their secrets to you with a wedge of lime accompanying the message. It was as if the dish was written in a language you didn’t quite know, but somehow, it felt like home.
And the empanadas - oh, the empanadas. Golden pockets of joy, with a flaky, buttery crust that shattered with the first bite. The filling inside was a savoury revelation - bold, rich, and perfectly balanced, with flavours that unfold like a love letter to the senses. The combination of meat and spices was so thoughtfully executed, it made the world seem a little bit brighter, a little bit warmer.
As if that weren’t enough, dessert made its entrance. Tres Leches. No mere cake, this was an ethereal creation - so smooth it could have been spun from clouds. The sweetness was delicate, like a whispered secret, never overpowering, but rather, coaxing you to savor each spoonful. The texture of the cake? Perfect. A tender embrace for your taste buds, soaked just enough in milk to create the most divine melt-in-your-mouth experience.
In every dish, there’s love, there’s care, and above all - there’s art. This isn’t just food; it’s a celebration of flavors, a sensory journey that reminds you of what eating can truly be: an experience, a story, a masterpiece. Truly, this place is a rare find, and I can’t wait to return and dive back into this symphony of taste.
Such a treasure, I myself have sinned - for having not taken a picture of this culinary grail to share with the rest of the World. You will simply have to make your journey here and try it...
Read moreI cant even say I didn't like the food. First off my gf and I pull up and it looks weird and not welcoming. We are Hispanic, so we have been to many places 100000x better. Place looks dusty, there was a female hanging out outside when we pull up. She suddenly dissappears so we go in. NOT A SINGLE PERSON to greet you. No food was out at all on display, I could see a young guy in the back, idk if he was a server or cook. Who knows, not sure if this establishment cooks your food as u order but the social media site shows so much and it appears welcoming. Even shows different options on food selections, I couldn't even find a menu to browse as we were ignored. After about 2 min, even the 2 people sitting at a random table w 1 drink looked at us and towards the kitchen bc Noone was coming out. So I cant judge the food but the service is big for me, and thats a def no. Not sure how they won an award last year. Maybe change locations, or dont be selective with who you want to serve at your establishment. Obviously we aren't people worthy of service. Why be open! Do better, it doesn't look like...
