Ok, to start, I wanna say I do believe this place deserves all the great reviews they received from other people. It does a lot of things right. However, we decided that it wasn’t for us.
I found it by searching “Huevos Rancheros near me” because that is by far my favorite breakfast food and I can’t find it anywhere in the area.
Excited, I loaded up my mom and daughter to go try it out. We drove the 45 minutes.
It was clean, trendy, the atmosphere was fun and low-key. The menu had a lot of variation, kind of a southern breakfast fusion thing. Although the menu was kind of hard to read for visually impaired (I forgot my glasses so I couldn’t make out much past the name of the items).
I like how we order the food from the register, then they brought it to our table. The staff was top notch. Extremely friendly.
I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and a side of grits, my 11 year old daughter ordered the Vicious Beignets, and my mom ordered the Hen Solo.
The food quality was good, excellent even. The Huevos Rancheros came on a very large biscuit, as opposed to tortilla. I could accept that. But I was disappointed right away when I saw the Huevos Rancheros has some sort of strange thick chipotle sauce drizzled over it instead of the traditional green or red salsa that it should have. I wish I would not have forgotten my glasses , because if I would have seen this in the menu I definitely would not have gotten it. But that’s on me. For me, it ruined the entire dish. The grits were good, but very (too) rich and filling. I didn’t eat but about four bites of my food.
The beignets were not beignets in the sense that people from Louisiana are used to. They were closer to the beignet bites (with some sort of cinnamon filling) you can get for much cheaper at Popeyes. They were also slathered in whipped cream and jam. Again, too rich and filling. The beauty of beignets is that they’re not sweet, and you add the powdered sugar to control how sweet you want to make them. This was just some kind of sweet dough, stuffed with sweet cinnamon, covered in sweet whipped cream. It was really too much. My daughter could only eat about two.
My mom’s hen solo was good. She enjoyed it.
All in all, I’m glad we tried it to see what the hype is about. I do believe the other people really enjoyed what they got. But considering the price we paid for none of us to really eat what we ordered, we will not...

I ordered the special, which was pulled pork, sauce, and bacon with jalapeños. I was provided a number and was served at the table. There's a brewer for tea and it seems like sodas were bottled. There was a fixings bar for your biscuits, but I ate mine before I thought about trying them. Looked good, though.
My meal was presented neatly and tasted very nice. The biscuits were a good and hearty taste while still being soft yet solid enough to hold as a sandwich. The food was tasty. Nothing tasted cheap. The bacon was thick and almost had a jerky taste to it, which really complimented the mild sweetness of the biscuit. There's no excuse to not clean your plate as biscuits are made for that. And it's really fulfilling to sop the sauce up and eat every little bit.
Service was very nice. Staff was making sure everything was good and the managers seem to be the type that have their things together. Importantly, the staff was cleaning. The restaurant was clean as a result. It is very important to be cleaning on your downtime and it shows the staff are taking care of the eating area.
Bathrooms were great. They were very clean, if a bit empty. The floors are functional and not meant to be pretty. But they were clean and not sticky. ADA compliant, changing table, everything you need. I give a lot of points for good bathrooms. And although it looks sparse it was very functional and clean.
So I enjoyed my meal. The value is pretty good. This is more of a "get lunch or breakfast with people and take nothing home" rather than a "order big portions and take home half for tomorrow" kind of restaurant and I appreciate that. I also felt safe in and around the location.

Read moreWe visited on a Sunday and got there right when they opened at 8am. The line was out the door, and for good reason! (They got through the line so quickly though, so don’t let that scare you away!)
To start - Cindy was greeting everyone at the door, handing out menus, and explaining the ordering process since it is probably everyone’s first time there (as they just opened this week). She was so incredibly sweet and inviting. Felt like I was walking in to grandma’s house.
We ordered and sat down. Several other employees came by and chatted and asked if we needed anything. Everyone was literally so nice - I have not experienced customer service like this at a restaurant in a very long time. It was so genuine.
Anyways, they brought our cocktails out and they were 10/10. Husband had a Bloody Mary and I had a vi’mosa. Delicious. Then they brought the jalapeño hush puppies and HOLY COW those were so good. Then our biscuits came out; I got a Nashville hot biscuit and husband got the animal farm biscuit. 100/10 on both of them. Nashville hot was as spicy as it is supposed to be. These biscuits are huge and so fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. We also got a side of bacon and it was also very good!
We sat outside and it was so nice out today - it was the perfect brunch spot. Inside, the vibes were also immaculate. They have a little jam and butter bar you can pick whatever one you like and put it in a little cup to enjoy with your biscuit.
Overall this was an amazing dining experience and we...
