Quite honestly we are pretty easy to please. However this place barely deserves 1 star! We opted for take away so we could sit by the fire at our hotel. The menu -- it's pretty typical for any barbecue place. We first ordered the two meat combo meal. The menu clearly says you get french fries and coleslaw. The employee who took our to go order insisted that you have to choose one despite pointing out the menu. She and another employee were quick to say, well I guess the menu is wrong. We also ordered the four piece Fried Chicken meal. I asked if we can have two drinks while we waited for them to prepare a meal. She said sure and I'll bring them outside to you. After waiting for about 15 minutes I walked back inside to find that my drinks were still sitting on the counter. Nothing great about having a warm beer let alone to warm beers. After 55 minutes I went back in to check on her order. I was told it will be ready shortly. I asked if I could also get a few sides of barbecue sauce. The employee said Barbecue Sauce cost $0.50 each. I was kind of shocked because the fried chicken would be fantastic with dipping sauce. My level of frustration was high by this time so I just said fine I will buy four cups please. At this point we had already spent $47 for the meals, $10 for the drinks and now $2 for the dipping sauce. We've been there over an hour and our meal still was not ready. We took our meal back to our hotel where we only found out that it was a huge disappointment. The coleslaw was dry. The chicken was moist but very Bland. The barbecue meal portion is incredibly small but the brisket was very moist also. Needless to say we through a large portion of our meal away. The next day I thought I would speak to the manager to see if perhaps if they wanted to make it better before I posted a review. I spoke with the manager on duty, I believe her name was crystal and I explained everything. All she did was say sorry. And she did acknowledge that the menu is correct and we should have received coleslaw and Fries. She also confirmed that if you order a fried chicken meal you do get barbecue sauce on the side. So clearly the staff do not know the menu very well. There was a deep-seated hope that perhaps maybe she would say come in for dinner or lunch today and we'll get it right. She did not. Needless to say our next trip to Gorham New Hampshire will definitely not include this restaurant based on the quality of the food, the portions and the terrible service. I say die in there at...
Read moreAvoid If You Can!! What a disappointment! Stopped in for Father's Day Dinner and were most unpleasantly surprised by the terrible food and lack of experience of our server. I ordered a Pina Colada, first I asked if they could make one since it ws not listed as a drink special and the head server assured us our bartender could easily make one. What a mistake! It tasted like Paragoric, and she put whisky in the Pina Colada. While we were waiting for our Paragoric drink we ordered the shrimp appetizer. These were all burnt and shriveled up and there was a measly 5 on the plate! In addition, we ordered the quesadilla and ribs to take home. We should have known from our horrible drink & lousy burnt shrimp to look at the takeout food, but we trusted them and took it home. What a shock to find out they had burned the ribs and the quesadilla and the fries looked like slimy burnt worms. Obviously, the oil had not been changed since it looked like decades old on the decrepid fries. There was supossed to be coleslaw but that was missing. And the quesadilla was just plain unedible since it had been burnt to a crisp!since we had been i It was terrible. We were so dissappointed that our Father's Day meal was ruined! I called to tell them about our awful food and drink experience and they did NOTHING! Avoid this place like the...
Read moreNot overly impressed with this place. Our waitress was friendly, but was busy. She did check on us once. The food was ok, but nothing to write home about or tell friends that they need to go there. The quantity of the portions for the price was disappointing. In most restaurants the normal portions are more than I can eat and I always have left overs. There were three of us. Hubby ordered a burger with pulled pork on it and a side of fries and he easily ate it. Me and our daughter split a pulled pork sandwich and sweet potato fries and also a (small shallow) bowl of their slap your mama chili with corn bread and their very tiny side of Mac n cheese. The chili was decent, but again...not what I expected. The Mac n cheese was good, but maybe 4 bites worth total. We got an order of tricolored chips and guacamole for all of us as an appetizer. Again...it was ok, but not great. Lastly, it was so loud in there on a sat evening that we had to almost yell to talk to each other. Maybe their ribs or wings are amazing, but we won't be going back to try them. What we got for $50 (we added a tip too, but the food was $50) just wasn't worth it...
