Very poor experience after being discriminated against by the server Sonia. Once she realized that there was LGBT customers at our table she continued to avoid us, give interesting looks, and serve multiple tables around us. When attempting to grab her attention she would look away after making eye contact. We had to ask the hostess for assistance. We saw our server twice - once to take our orders, and once to drop off our food. We waited 40 minutes after finishing our food to pay and had to look for help with that as well. Never got asked how anything was, never got offered another drink but watched as people around us did. Nor did she ID anyone at the table. Two people being 25 and drinking alcoholic beverages. Never got offered desert, not that it was wanted at this point. Once we asked for the manager on our way out to the hostess, we were told there is not one on the premises and they’re here since 8 and “to busy to discuss any concerns”. This was told to a nurse who has been on her feet for 12-16 hour shifts. The place wasn’t even full, nor should they be sitting additional tables if they can’t tend to the tables they have. Food was decent, even though when we were trying to package it up to go the server grabbed everything around us, preventing from packing it up and tossed it in the dish bin behind her. At this point she seemed more irritated that we asked other servers and the hostess for assistance that she treated us as if we were bothering her from finishing her other tables. I’ve worked in the food service industry, I get being busy but there’s no reason to be disrespectful, especially once an issue is brought to the attention. Not every experience is poor but this time was extremely...
Read moreService was extremely slow. We ordered pizza and house red wine. When the pizza finally, it was half cooked, and the wine never came, although we asked four different people a total of six times.
Finally, they admitted they couldn't find the wine. We told the server that the pizza was not fully cooked, but he wouldn't do anything about it.
We have up and left, having taken far too much time in a hopeless cause. I intended to call and ask to talk to a manager, but they have no phone (!) so I went back in person. There was no manager there, so I left my number. As I left, a guy came out of the kitchen and asked me if I'd eaten there. I said no, I'd cone to talk to a manager. He said that was just as well since "they have some angry cooks "
A co-owner called the next day, apologized, and promised a $50 gift card so we could try again. Since Mr. Pizza had been a favorite, I gladly accepted.
After a week, the card never came. So I called and left a message. No response. Four text messages. No response. Returned in person, asked for a manager, got the co-owner. Asked about the gift card, and she said her husband (and co-owner) had "told [her] not to send it" (thus admitting she had promised to send it) and asked if I wanted to talk to him. He came out screaming that he didn't want me in his restaurant and that I should "go back to Connecticut." (I live locally.)
Obviously, returning will not be an issue.
Glancing at other recent reviews, I see I am not alone. This place is BAD. It's truly a shame that this local icon has fallen into the hands of dishonest, incompetent, crazy...
Read moreThis was the first time I’ve been to Mr pizza since new owners was excited to try but when we got there we waited to be seated and the staff were at the bar and one guy said oh seat yourself they’ll find you so we did she finally came over got our drinks and brought them right back and then said she would get us straws and menus she had forgot the straws twice I had to ask again we ordered I felt like we were an inconvenience to her as she would go straight back to the bar and sit with other employees and the one guy that was well over served as I could hear them talking about a woman and degrading her the food was disappointing. We finished eating and we had to stand up and put our jackets on to finally get the waitress to even check in on us then she brings the bill and back to the bar drinking and talking as we wait to pay I finally got sick of waiting and started to walk to bring them the card and check and they all looked at me. I was like would you like me to pay for my food and the over served man said was it that bad I said ya had to seat our selves and we seemed to be an inconvenience to the waitress as she’s more worried about hanging out at the bar than the customer. She then snapped back and the clearly over served guy started insulting my other half saying well look at this guy anyway trying to pick a fight and we walked out after paying and they pretty near followed us out the door. I will never go back there I hope the liquor commissioner shows up one day when staff are drinking on the job and they are...
