On Friday, January 11th, my mother and I had the misfortune of trying this location out for lunch amidst our errands together. As I was placing my order, I was very abruptly informed by the cashier (short hair, in her 60s) that the Squash Soup was no more. Okay...no problem. I politely requested the nutrition/allergen book to see what other options for soup I had since I have multiple food allergies including Celiac disease and the menu had been altered since the last time I had been to a Panera. At the Bloomfield Hills location I am a regular at, I have always been happily provided one when I ask. I was again quickly informed by this cashier that they either hadn't gotten a new allergen guide book since the menu change, or someone had lost it; she had "no idea what had happened with it" and did not even want to lift a finger to see where it was. She then snapped at me that she was certain that the Ten Vegetable soup was gluten free so I should just get that. (There were no (GF symbols on any of the soups listed on the menu on the board.) I was growing more and more embarrassed at this point. Since she couldn't seem to be bothered, I told her that I guess I would just go with a salad since I could not take a chance on getting ill and she was getting more and more impatient and more rude by the second. I did not want to subject my mom to her exploding. This woman then started huffing and puffing like we were the biggest inconveniences in the world and spat back that now she had to go back and take off the soup since I didn't want it now. As we waited for our salads to be made, I did a quick search online to see if the Ten Vegetable soup was gluten free myself. Upon my search, I found that the first ingredient was wheat berries! Not wanting to ever see or deal with this cashier from Hell again, I discreetly asked someone in the kitchen if I could speak to a manager whenever had they a moment before we left--nothing urgent at all. As my mom and I were trying to enjoy our salads and just forget about the insanely rude interaction from earlier, a manager in her 20s came to our table looking very shy and like she was about to cry. I told her very politely that I just wanted to give her a heads up for the next time someone asks that the Vegetable soup had wheat berries in it and that the cashier had made us feel ashamed and embarrassed for being such a hassle. Not quite sure if that did anything, but next thing you know, the cashier was forced to walk up to our table and completely ruined our entire lunch. She said in the most condescending tone, "I was told that I GUESS I gave you the wrong information which I know I DIDN'T, but I am coming over because I was told to apologize" and then just stood there with her arms crossed until she finally walked away. I was speechless. Not only did it make us feel extremely uncomfortable and awkward, but it almost brought me to tears for causing such a hassle over what should have been such small question in the first place. I have no idea how such a vile person could be employed as the first face you see inside interacting with customers. I worked in customer service for years and the most important thing you are taught is to be respectful. I will never be coming to this...
Read moreThe first time we ordered theough delivery, it was so fast and perfect. Every time after that, (and there's been many), we have had issues with our orders. They've been sent the wrong meals, soups, and sandwiches. We get calls afterwards that they have not updated the online meno, so loaves of bread & bread bowls were not available, even though they charged me for them. Normally, the female managers, try to rectify issues by sending a free cookie, a coupon vouchure for a meal (which never arrived). And, once the order was stopped to reorder it correctly, but then not being able to deliver, because replacing the order put the order in too late, therefore we didn't have dinner. I did get a refund once, from Jake for an incorrect order. Thank you, Jake, for handling our issue thouroughly. Today, the online order placed two duplicate sandwiches. We only wanted one. The manager couldn't refund the sandwich, so she was going to have me call corporate for the sandwich refund. Then, she said the order was already out with the sandwich. I told her if the sandwich is in the bag and it is on it's way we will just pay for that extra sandwich. She said okay. We hung up. Now, 35 minutes later I have still not received my message that my dilevery is on it's way. Nor, has it arrived. So, is this their way of making an issue go away? I am wondering where is this food if it was already out for delivery? Once again, we've place our food well before their delivery time! Not sure why we keep giving them our business or the next chance to make things right. We've only had ONE correct order out of oh so many. Guess this make us bad consumers. Even though we appreciate their home delivery, but that is not our problem with Grand Blanc...
Read moreDon't go here!!! I usually don't because I feel Panera's prices are overall high considering the food you get. However, my friend wanted to go so I said sure why not. It's been awhile. We get to the counter and the guy taking our order was okay. Not friendly but not rude either. Just seemed like he was ready to go home. I asked him a question about the coffees and he didn't know so I just ordered something else. We walk down to the waiting area where we stood for a solid 25-30 minutes for our food. Mind you there was no one in line to order or pickup their food when we arrived and maybe one car in drive thru. Unreal. Then my $32ish order (for only two people) comes and I ask the lady (later I find out her name is Carolina) for a drink carrier. She looks at me with this snottiest "I can't believe you just asked me that question" contemptuous look and says no then walks away. Really? You don't have drink carriers? As we are walking to the car my friend says "can you believe her attitude?" I said "thank you, so it wasn't just my imagination". I get home and one of the lids on my $10 soups was off and completely spilled on the bottom of the bag. AWESOME! Later in the week I am told by a friend who works there (who gave me Carol's name) that he wouldn't recommend eating at this location because he is surprised how much they don't clean. Gross. Bad prices. Bad service. Bad cleanliness. Bye Felicia, will never set foot in that...
