Attitude, runny under cooked egg whites, owner won’t see customers, all exchange students. Servers don’t understand anything other than what is written on menu. God help anyone who deviates from the menu. Called ahead to ask politely if they have egg whites they said “yes no problem.” Got there, server said no egg whites we are to busy only egg beaters. In a very thick accent. I don’t care where people are from as long as they are polite. There were no people waiting for a table. Several students standing around doing nothing. What the heck. More attitude. Good potential poorly executed & unhealthy serving raw eggs.asked if they could remake my food. Instead of redoing order they replated my food on clean plate and gave it back to me still raw & could care less. Server was very rude threw our check at us and after my wife paid for meal with CC server gave bill back to me instead just to piss us off. She said we had to pay for half of omelette and they weren’t going to remake it correctly. Same attitude as Seinfeld’s “Soup Nazi”. They really don’t care. We only paid for what was prepared correctly. Server must not understand she works for tips or just doesn’t...

We had Philly cheese steak sandwich and boasted chicken. My Philly was served with a mountain of limp ,soggy, flavorless heap of dripping ingredients on top of what I believe was a hotdog bun which in turn had soaked up as much of this soggy glob of ingredients as possible!! Server came around maybe 20 minutes later to ask how our meals were!! I told her " this has nothing to do with you, but this is the absolute 💯 WORST Philly I've ever had and that I highly recommend removing from menu immediately as I literally wrung out juices out of my hotdog bun as she stood next to the table! Sorry for bad review, I've ALWAYS been a mom and pop cafe/diner kind of guy my entire life and I know how a bad review can impact establishments negatively. This was my first review of your place but man that Philly really was disgusting! P.S. The wild rice soup I ordered with sandwich was some sort of barley with colorless flavorless broth! So missed that one too!! Wife had boasted chicken (one of her favorite meals in the world) sorry it was edible but greasy! I was fully and cheerfully refunded my money,but,...

Having just finishing our 7 day BWCA wilderness canoe trip, my son and I stopped here on the way out of the Gunflint.

We had eaten here before for lunch, which I remember being nothing special to write home about. Evidently breakfast is taken more seriously here!

It was about 10am when we got there. We were relieved to see they serve breakfast all day! Having been in survival mode for the previous 7 days, we were looking forward to big flavors and good portions. Blue Water Cafe didn't disappoint.

Very busy even at 10am with all tables full when we got there. My son spied 2 seats at the small counter where their registers are located, so we too them. Our waiter was a young Romanian guys (sorry for forgetting his name) and he got us drinks and menus right away. We have had other foreign staff serve us here so we were thinking they might be exchange students or something. At any rate, super nice kid!

I ordered eggs Benedict with hash browns, while my son got french toast. Everything was great - taste, temperature, portion size. Waiter was great too! Great place...

Authentic Swedish Pancakes! Definitely has a timeless cafe style dining experience - none of the modern hipster garbage. Excellent service, incredible food and great coffee with a classic Grand Marais atmosphere & friendly waiters. The food was delicious and the wait wasn’t long even though the restaurant was full. The chocolate chip pancakes were also phenomenal. My coffee was always topped off right away. We had two others join us after we already had been served our food. The staff was very accommodating. They had the walleye breakfast and it looked delicious.

Good place to stop for a bite to eat. I had the triple threat burger that comes with 3 types of cheese on it. All of the burgers seem to come with a pretzel bun, which was pretty tasty. We also ordered Poutine which is fries covered with cheese and gravy. Highly recommend that! What I don't recommend is the $1 upcharge for the Mac and cheese as a side. It's only Kraft Mac and cheese, and I expected something home made or at the very least not Kraft. All in all, great place to stop, but next time I visit Grand Marais I'll probably try some place different.

Would I recommend? Nah, I'd go to my sister's place again before I came here. Had hopes for this place. Food was mediocre at best, service wasn't worth a damn. Spent $92.21 ($15on tip due to server watching the paying machine) on breakfast... YES ON BREAKFAST! All for less than mediocre service and food. Had 2 mimosas (which were nothing but orange juice) eggs Benedict with a side of sausage ( 2 pieces), bacon (2 slices), and 2 biscuits and gravy. Wife had ham and cheese omelet and a blueberry pie. Definitely wasn't worth it
