Grand Marais Lighthouse — Attraction in Grand Marais

So we came here while we were walking around Grand Marais. They have really clean porta Johns right by the coast guard house here and parking right before that.

There is a large rock wall you can follow to the light house. There is a bunch of cool photo opportunities on this walk as you can see. There is a beach at the end with really great skipping rocks. There is another little area with trees and rocks to explore you will like.

It was a great little spot to visit before getting food in town. There is a great place to hike on the other side of the lighthouse with beautiful rock formations and pools. The crashing waves can be very dramatic when it's windy. It would be a great place to come for a sunrise. It's not the best place to come with children who like to run around and climb on things; there are places where they can fall into the water and it could be hard to...

There is something at once comforting and disturbing about the fog. It is close and quiet, but you do not know what it's hiding. The walk out to this lighthouse (beginning at the nearby US Coast Guard Station North Superior, which also provides portable outdoor toilets) has a couple of tricky spots to navigate, but those just make the short hike more interesting.
