It was our first time trying this franchise. I was exepecting something like Cinnabon or a traditional cinnamon roll. These are over the top, but in a good way, sort of. They have a lot of flavors, which was a bit overwhelming when it came to deciding, but it also creates the opportunity to go back and try different things. Smart.
The presentation could've been a little better though; they certainly didn't look like the pictures advertised online. I think that's the reason for most of the negative reviews. They're not terribly expensive, altbough they are more than what you'd expect for a cinnamon roll. So for the price, they could look a little more put together. They were a tad messy, and borderline sloppy if we're being honest, but it should be expected being that the desserts were served fresh and warm with melted frosting. The frosting/toppings are going to run a little bit while warm. The only way you're going to get a neater look, is by dressing them when cooled so the ingredients can remain set, and serving them cool. Maybe if plated, the desserts would be more visually appealing, as the topping/frosting could flow, whereas served in the To-go box/carton isn't (just take them home and transfer to a plate with a couple of scoops of ice cream). Perhaps they could probably cut back on the frosting a little or offer frosting/topping on the side upon request.
It's hit or miss basically. You either like decadent indulgences or not. Seems like their goal is, for you NOT to say, "that's it??". Instead, they overload you with...sweet. The whole point is to eat it; not take pictures.
We were surprised, however, that our teens weren't excited at the sight of them. They thought they were "too sweet". Not gonna lie though, at first, it was a bit much, like, "Geyahdayum that's sweet!"]
However, they did enjoy the "Old School" (A+), which I enjoyed as well, and really all I wanted. We did try the "Very Berry" (A-) , "Caramel Apple Pie" (B-), "Cookie Monster" (C+) [warm raw cookie dough isn't it for me], "Coffee Frosting with Walmuts and Pecans" [custom.
What we regret, was not purchasing a bitter coffee to compliment the sweet (it was late).
If you can't eat it in 1 sitting, cut the roll into portions and fridge or freeze for a lite quick sweet.
Overall, it wasn't bad. We'll be returning...
Read moreThis location in Grand Prairie, TX really can’t get it right. When they first opened, I was going around 3 times a week! It was that good! The cinnamon rolls were AMAZING and the service was GREAT! Now, I never go. This location’s cinnamon rolls are ALWAYS RAW and the service sucks! Even though I live about 2-3 minutes away from this location, I only go to the Arlington, TX location now because their cinnamon rolls are always PERFECT! However, I didn’t not feel like driving that far since it’s kind of late (8:00pm). So, I went to this location tonight for the first time in months. When I walked in, three girls were talking to each other and did not acknowledge I was in there. I locked eyes with one of them, but she was too interested in the girl talking with her back turned to me to say anything. A girl came from the back, noticed I was standing there, and that no one was helping me. So, she welcomed me into the store (she looked really irritated with the three girls in the front). When she welcomed me in, the three girls started laughing. I don’t know what was so funny about not doing your job, but okay. I ordered the caramel apple pie cinnamon roll and it had barely any pie crumble on it and only two apples. The container was filled with frosting that was straight melted butter or oil and the center of the roll was RAW as usual… The Arlington location’s cinnamon rolls never look like this! Needless to say, it went straight into the trash and I will officially no longer be going to this location. I used to rave about this location to everyone I knew that lived in area, but I will no longer be doing that. Which saddens me because I loved this...
Read moreI was spending the day in Grand Prairie TX I went to Jersey Mike's but next door was Cinnaholic so I figured I'd try them out I initially wanted a Pecan Praline roll but they were sold out of those so I tried this strawberry shortcake roll. It looked so good. I didn't eat any until later that night because I was full from eating earlier. Well as I was eating I looked and was like what is that, looking closer or looks like one of those rubberbands that one uses in their mouth of they wear braces, my thought is how would this get into the food, every thought I had was disguising, someone wearing braces had to be messing with their mouth or trying to put it in their mouth and it popped off and couldn't be found not knowing it ended up in someone's food. I gag as I type this. I'm going to follow up with a phone call this morning to get an understanding. Let me say the staff that I dealt with was very informative as she explains each one that I inquired about. The initial taste on the roll was delicious I wouldn't take nothing away from the strawberry shortcake roll. This has ruined the experience and I couldn't continue to eat it due to the thought of how did it get there, was it in someone's mouth and ended up in my food. Just...
