We have eaten here previously, never any issues, never anything above expectations either. Service has been somewhat slow at times, however usually when the place is busy. This last time we went there were maybe 10 people in the entire restaurant. It was not late at night, maybe about 6:15 or 6:30 upon our arrival.
We were seated right away but waited at least 20-22 minutes for someone to come to our table. We are well aware of the situation that so many restaurants are dealing with as far as labor issues, so while the wait was irritating, we understood, however we could not understand why with so few people, no one would come over and let us know someone would be with us shortly.
Eventually a server came over with her pad and pen ready. My wife mentioned ordering a drink. At that moment the waitress looked at my wife as if she had forgotten something, just a blank stare and after about 10 seconds she walked away never saying a word. As she walked away she grabbed some dirty dishes from a table and went into the kitchen. We thought maybe she was getting a drink menu or something. We laughed because we found it amusing she didn''t say anything at all.
We saw her exit the kitchen with plates for other diners and she served them, then picked up more dirty dishes from another table and headed to the kitchen again. She came out one additional time and took an order from another table and disappeared into the kitchen yet again.
At this point we had sat there for another 15 minutes (we didn't even have water), and finally decided to leave. We got up and walked out. As we passed the cashier's stand, the girl behind the counter had her face buried in her phone and never even looked up or acknowledged us leaving.
Done. Not. Going. There. Ever. Again.

Read moreI am a pretty harsh critic of Chinese food. I really enjoy first-rate Chinese food. I travel extensively so I have quite a few experiences both good and bad as I travel.
I ordered for the first time from the Golden Wok last night. Every single item in our order was the best I have ever tasted.
soup - my wife got the egg drop and loved it. I order the hot and sour soup. It was delicious. Spicy as it should be. Rich with flavor and unbelievably fresh tasting. I ordered crispy noodles with the soup. I received deliciously light and crispy chow mein noodles. They tasted very, very fresh.
egg rolls - delicious, crispy and fresh tasting entrees - We ordered orange beef, sesame chicken and chicken lo mein. A lot of places skimp on the quality of beef and on the quantity of beef slices in an order. The orange beef was delicious. Again, very fresh tasting. No gristle or "chewiness" characteristic of a Chinese place that uses cheap meat. The lo mein noodles were very good. The were a perfect "al dente", obviously made to order and not mushy tasting like they sat around all day for the occasional customer ordering lo mein. The sesame chicken was delicious as well.
I very seldom leave reviews, good or bad. I wanted to take the time to do my part to thank the "Golden Wok" for taking pride in their craft and providing their patrons with the finest Chinese food that I have eaten anywhere in the...
Read moreDelicious food, great service, and comfortable atmosphere. From the outside Golden Wok looks like any other Chinese restaurant in the area. Once inside, however, I was pleasantly surprised by the subdued atmosphere and open-yet-private layout of the dining room. The ladies who greeted me and served the food were hospitable, friendly, and professional. The dining room was clean and tidy, and every table was set neatly for arriving guests. Complimentary tea service was provided as soon as I was seated, which was a very nice touch. The tea was very hot, but soothing. I ordered the Hunan pork and hot & sour soup. Both were delicious. The soup was served first, and it was very hot (temperature), so I had to let it sit for a few minutes to cool. All the food is made from scratch, so it takes a while for your main course to arrive. Mine did as soon as I finished the soup. The fried rice was moist and flavourful, and the sauce on the pork and vegetables was mouthwatering and not too salty. The egg roll was fried to perfection. The portion sizes here are large, so you will probably leave with leftovers for later. I will definitely return to Golden Wok, and I suggest the restaurant to my coworkers as...
