Absolutely horrible food! I don’t ever leave reviews but this was just too bad. I ordered a chalupa and I got a flat crispy corn tortillas with a small portion of shredded chicken on top of it....it might have been their interpretation of an enchilada , not really sure because what I assumed to be the enchilada was also in a small corn tortillas only instead of crispy it was soggy with a little bit of shredded white cheese on top. Do you even know what a chalupa is?! It’s a deep fried burrito filled with meat and whatever and topped with melted queso cheese. It’s delicious...this was not. The flavors were bland and everything kind of tasted like the bad lettuce they had topped it with. I also order what I thought was a side of queso cheese but instead received 3 slimy pieces of queso fresco, that one is on me , my bad, I I thought queso would be labeled as such but no it’s under the heading of cheese dip . I feel like that’s a little misleading but I’ll take that one. Also this place is literally across the road from me and when it arrived it was stone cold and I received no utensils because it was not an option to choose online. I received a side of chips and they were burnt...yes burnt. The two positives I have from this place, they delivered fast and the salsa was great. But overall none of that made up for the fact that it was the nastiest Mexican food I have ever tasted and believe me I am very well aware of what quality food is and this place is nothing short of subpar if that. I also payed over 20.00 for this meal . Definitely not worth it . Needless to say I will never eat here again and I hope for their sake that this was just a fluke because based on the reviews I thought better of them, apparently reviews lie , very sad and very...
Read moreWe’ve been to El Burrito a couple times before today 5/9, we have loved it and that’s why we decided to come back. However today was probably the worst experience we’ve had at any Mexican restaurant. The waitress came to us and looked rushed from the get go. We asked her if they still had the molcajete and she said yes but that it wasn’t on the menu today due to it being Mother’s Day but that we could still order it. We placed our order and I asked for no mushrooms or sour creme on my dish. The food came back and it was very clearly over cooked and burnt. I told her my food had items I didn’t want so she took it back and I got a new plate. Towards the end of our dinner we told her that the molcajete was burnt and that my husband wasn’t able to enjoy it. Mind you during the hour or so of us being there she did not check on us except for once and we had to repeatedly tell her we were missing a fork and knife. Anyway back to the molcajete, when we told her it was burnt she immediately said there was nothing she could do that the molcajete regardless of what day we go would always be cooked the same ... so with burnt dry chicken, burnt onion, and burnt chorizo. A nice gentlemen (not the manager) came to our table and he was very nice and understanding and heard us out unlike the other waitress who was dismissive and had an aggressive attitude. Needles to say we will not...
Read moreWe came into this restaurant to eat on a cold winter evening, when most of the local residences had been without power for an average of 2 days. We were seated quickly, though by the time we left people were waiting just inside the doors. Chips & salsa were served as soon as we were seated, we could tell immediately that the restaurant was understaffed for the customers already present. Our waitress was stressed & told us that they were very busy that evening, it was unexpected & not usual. The service was excruciatingly slow, the chips & salsa were not refreshed, nor were our drinks checked or refreshed. My meal was dried out as if it had sat under a heating lamp for too long & the second meal came out approximately 10 minutes after the first meal was served, though chicken was ordered, 2 different meats were served? Because we felt that the staff was doing the best they could under the circumstances we left a 20% gratuity, yet I felt that the lack of preparation and foresight of management lost much potential future business for this restaurant. They were unexpectedly flooded with customers due to the winter storm and power outages in the area, at the least an excellent appealing dinner would have brought this restaurant recognition for future visits, the meals served were warm, but not appetizing. We will not visit again, nor recommend...
