Upon seating ourselves, we were greeted by our waitress, dressed in sloppy sweats with what could have been eggs or could have been puke -- who knows -- all over the front of her sweatshirt. All the younger girls working there were huddled in an area maybe 10 feet away from us, talking about tiny bugs they had seen. Now... I'm an odd girl, and I love bugs, but... I do NOT want to hear about tiny bugs while I'm in their restaurant, trying to eat. Furthermore, one of the kitchen workers had come out and pulled up a chair to the booth beside us, where he was clearly friends with the man of the couple sitting there. Throughout the ENTIRE time we were there, trying to eat our food, this man was talking about people being killed, doing drive-bys, killing people, so maybe he can go see his cousin, doing time, etc. Another kitchen worker came out at one point, and mentioned something about the people up front (where most of the elderly people were eating), and the first guy said something about them all looking the same. Continue talk of people being killed. Upon checkout, my boyfriend's brother was almost charged double what he paid for as well. Through all of the things I saw and I was hearing while I was there, even if it was the world's greatest oatmeal, it tasted like soot in my mouth, and I could not wait to leave that place. Definitely do NOT recommend...
Read moreAugust 26, 2025 we came in to pick up our take out order about 925am and received our neatly bagged items. Staff was friendly as always. Upon arriving home and exiting the truck, I realized the bag had gravy and egg yolk spilled in it but couldnt understand why as nothing had tipped over on our drive home. I removed all 4 Styrofoam containers and found that the bottoms had been melted through. From the food. Food also had Styrofoam melted into it.
I did call the restaurant right after I discovered the situation to report this but was told the manager was not in at that time but they were very apologetic about it and offered to replace the meal(s) right then or said theyd give us the food for free next time. Since we had already traveled all the way home we opted for the replacement meals next visit.
I just wanted to inform others to just double check before leaving the restaurant, or even eating it, that your Styrofoam containers and food havent been compromised.
Unfortunately we had Styrofoam melted into the chicken fried steaks so we didnt feel safe consuming them but hopeful next visit they're as tasty as we remember them being minus the...

This is an amazing, small town diner with multiple locations and a big city business plan. I look forward to trying other locations to see if they are as good as this one!
The food... Wow! I ordered a Western Omelette smothered in sausage gravy and a side of corned beef hash with fried onions on top. One word, incredible!
Their menu is full of old time classics and Midwestern/Southern favorites.
The service... Second to none! I felt at home from the first moment and enjoyed a pleasant conversation with my server. I observed that everyone who walks in is treated like family. When you come in, ask for Deb! She's the greatest! Tell her John sent ya' 🤣
This is a MUST GO breakfast destination. Go early, they are open from 6am- 2pm only.
Do yourself a favor and bring your appetite and a friend! Splitting a meal is only $1 more and there is enough...
