I sometimes question when I see either a 5 star rating or a 0 rating as these typically are created to either hurt or enhance something with no merit....
I however have no other choice but to give the 5 star rating for this store!
Between my parents and ourselves, we have utilized NWHF for over 30 years. I can't say enough good things about their dedication to customer satisfaction and professionalism. One of the owners Amy has been our "go to" decorator and furniture supplier for 3 different houses we've lived in. From my parents 1st recommendation, when we could barely afford the new couch we needed, we've always been very satisfied. They are always comparative in price to others, as we checked this out. However, they're service was and has always been top notch. Amy has come to my homes, helped me pick out paint colors, worked with decorating ideas. Without her helpfulness, the move in process would have been much more stressful.
She's never been pushy to oversell. if we could only afford (which was true at the beginning of our relationship) a small item, never were we made to feel that we were wasting their time...which we encountered at other stores. Hate to say it, but we did once try buying a bed from Talsmas Furniture store (sorry Amy!). Service up front was ok....getting the delivery and follow up of issues we had were a nightmare. Please do yourself a favor - do NOT listen to any nasty posts made....they do not make any sense to me. Go see for yourself the wonderful customer service, the quality of furniture, the many many home accessories they have to complete your "look", as well as your experience of how professional the delivery experience is to any follow up you may need to have. Small family owned stores are few and far between these days....this is gem that needs to be on your list when furniture/accessory shopping!!
Thank you to the NWHF family - I'm sure we'll be seeing...
Read moreI gave 2 stars instead of 5 based on my first experience with North Western. My husband and I purchased a much larger home than we’ve had in the past. We wanted to establish a relationship with a local business hoping to receive that one on one personal service. We had a considerable budget to work with however I did not make that known to the blond sales person that approached me when I walked into the store. I purposely dressed “down” and expressed an interest in a chair that was advertised on TV to see how I was treated when I walked in. She never introduced herself or shook my hand or showed any enthusiasm that I was a potential buyer. She actually made me feel very uncomfortable so I left after only being in the store for approximately 10 minutes. Any good sales person will tell you it’s all about the customer service and how you make the customer feel when they walk in, when they make a purchase or even if they don’t purchase anything at all. I can’t tell you how many times my husband said let’s go back to that business and spend our money because they treated us so well. Clearly your staff should have a consultant come in and do some extensive customer service training so people like myself don’t waste our time coming in. It starts at the top...the owner should take responsibility for the integrity of his business or do some serious...
Read moreYou may never have heard of Northwestern Home Furniture, since you probably haven't seen hundreds of frenetic TV ads for it, and it's tucked in along Leonard Ave NW instead of along Alpine, 44th, or 28th with a huge, blindingly-lit sign.
You should make an effort to visit, especially if you make it a point to shop local for USA-made furniture.
From Jill's help in choosing a frame, colors, and even (re)arrangement of my living room, to the realistic estimate of build time (it showed up earlier than anticipated), to the delivery crew's helpfulness, friendliness, and professionalism, I am 100% satisfied. My Smith Brothers sofa looks (and sits!) as good as Jill said it would in my living room. When I need my next piece, Northwestern Home Furnishings will definitely be...
