Wish I could give this place 0 stars. Let me set the scene for you, it’s my birthday and I call ahead to see if I am able to bring cupcakes in when I’m planning to visit, the person says yes it’s allowed. Great! We visit on Friday night and walk-in with the cupcakes where we are immediately asked by the bartender if they can put them in the fridge for us. We say no and find a seat. We order drinks, it took FOREVER. And then we finally get our bill and after multiple opportunities to tell us it would be a fee to bring the cupcakes in, they add at the last minute and casually mention it. Had we known we wouldn’t have brought the cupcakes in.

Would not recommend coming here, Wendy was rude and failed to inform us about the fee. Honestly ruined the night. Also $100 for 5 people to have a drink. Save yourself the trouble of this establishment and stay home or go to Eastern Kille or Less Traveled, way...

If you are in Grand Rapids, stopping for a cocktail at Pursuit of Happiness is an absolute must!! Their French Martini goes down as one of my favorite cocktails- think rainbow sherbet flavor with delicate froth. Soooo tasty!! Next, I had the Aviation which was giving me lavender vibes with the crème de violette- it was crisp and refreshing with the luxardo cherry! We shared the charcuterie board which was a fantastic spread and they were able to accommodate our gluten-free friends with GF crackers. I loved the atmosphere here, and the concept of this bar. The decor is bright, modern and inviting. The drink menu is unique and extensive, specializing in cocktails with a some kind of bubbly (prosecco, soda, sparkling rose, etc) but they also serve classic non-bubbly cocktails, along with wine and beer. I was pleased to see they had small plates and snacks to munch on, accompanying the drinks.
