Rebel — Local services in Grand Rapids

So....my husband bought 2 of the shower steamers as a Christmas gift. I unwrapped one and tried to use it, but it turns out that it didn't work as well for the arotherapy experience that it promises. Tried to return the other unopened one, and the counter girl tells us that it can't be returned since it is a 'Holiday decor' item. I can't imagine how shower steamer pellets are deemed a Holiday decor item.....unless you're a boutique on Kings street in London with a window dressing during the Holidays of a live human showering with this product. Moreover, the item on the receipt is marked as a 'Regular' item vs. a Holiday item. The girl at the counter also (mis)informed us that the return policy is applicable to ’all Holiday' merchandise, although the return policy on the receipt clearly states that the policy is applicable only to Holiday decor (see inserted pics). Needless to say, we didn't get our money back, or a store credit, or even a 'let us make this right' vibe from the staff. I debated between standing my ground and arguing till I was blue in the face vs. donating it to the cause of Christmas and unreasonably made up return policies. I decided in favor of the latter, as it was close to 5 PM, and there was a glass of red wine waiting for me, breathing a bit longer than it should.

Adios, Rebel. We wil not be back at this store anytime soon for our Christmas shopping or otherwise. You lost 2 customers. Hope it...

I love this store! They have the best selection of greeting cards in town. HOWEVER- their business hours make them very inaccessible. 2/3 times I attempt to go here, they are closed. I usually end up buying my cards down the street at Yours Truly because they have more convenient hours of operation. I can’t make it to Rebel after work before they close, and they open so late on weekends that I don’t have time to wait around for them to open. I tried to stop by today to get a card for a wedding I’m attending this weekend, but once again they were not open and I didn’t have time to wait around. I wish they opened an hour earlier on weekends and/or stayed open an hour later on weekdays. Otherwise, a wonderful local business with an interesting selection of nicknacks, decorations, jewelry,...

Thirty minutes in Rebel is much more pleasant and potentially longer-lasting than therapy, in my non-expert opinion. But don't trust me, schedule a date with this beloved establishment, meet its delightful owners and staff, and then tell me if I'm not wrong. Be warned: you might become a proud new plant Mama, or you might suddenly remember all the birthdays, weddings, and other special occasions for which one must buy presents. Rest assured, though, that anything you purchase from this darling store will be truly unique and memorable. My purchases: card for daughter's sixteenth birthday (says, "Have a badass birthday"), bergamot/black tea soy candle, and a bergamot/grapefruit...
