Circle Theatre — Attraction in Grand Rapids

A small intimate experience. Good seats and line of sight. Great parking. Good sound. We saw Jesus Christ Superstar and the performance used not only the entire stage, but the entire theatre. Good staging Good lighting. Handicap access is good. Restrooms confidently located and they can accommodate the size of the crowd.

The performers we saw were excellent. Great voices, solid choreography and many of the performers had multiple roles which they executed seamlessly. Well done. We ordered tickets online and the process of getting in was simple and easy. Helpful volunteers showed us to our seats. The foyer is not very large. Not a big issue except during the intermission. They had justnone person selling some candy, drinks and popcorn. Would have been better with two people and having popcorn pre-bagged. But that is the only negative. A must-go! Circle has been a mainstay in our community for decades - and it's easy to see why. The venue on Aquinas's gorgeous campus is accessible, and there is always ample parking. The facilities are clean and inviting. Most importantly, I have been an audience member for many years and have never seen a bad performance! The dedicated individuals involved in bringing these theatrical productions to life are talented, skilled, and bursting with love for theatre! This is evident from the moment you walk in the lobby and shows up again in the set design, direction, the lighting, sound design, costuming, makeup and hair, props, performance - everywhere! Circle Theatre is one of my favorite theaters since any seat you get will still be a great watch! I love the intimacy and community of this theatre.

I watched their production of Jesus Christ Superstar on Thursday, September 11. It's been two days, but their show keeps replaying in my head! The whole cast was amazing; props to all of them! The production staff and crew did great as well; the red lighting sequence during the lashings gave me goosebumps (and Pontius Pilate gave an outstanding performance).
