I’ve given Terra Bagels more than enough opportunities to show basic respect and provide quality customer service, and unfortunately, they have consistently failed to do so. The staff here chooses who they want to treat kindly — and who they don’t — and it’s clear that their behavior is not just inconsistent but deeply concerning.

On multiple visits, I’ve witnessed and personally experienced attitudes that were dismissive, condescending, and, quite frankly, discriminatory. There’s a noticeable difference in how customers are treated based on who they are — whether by race, age, or perceived “vibe.” That’s unacceptable anywhere, especially in a city like Grand Rapids that prides itself on community.

It’s incredibly disappointing, because the location and the concept have potential, but a business is only as good as the way it treats people. Lovely space and staff is very nice. 5 stars for that. The reason for the poor review is that the prices are truly outrageous for food that's not great. It's clear its clean and thought out but they are doing way too much. Ordered bacon, egg and cheese and bagel with salmon cream cheese, 2 coffees, $20. Ok, but we didn't like the food. The egg sandwich was greasy with so much strange cheese like sauce? It was on the top and bottom of the sandwich. Everything spilled out of it and it was just a mess. Cheese overpowered the whole thing and was not eaten. The other one was fine but nothing like I ordered. Its was smothered in a cream cheese/whitefish spread with so many herbs.
