I have been going here for a year! This was the only Mexican place I’d give my money to.. until the other day, My friend and I went here and she ordered an Amiga salad and was encouraged to get the taco salad, it wasn’t on the menu but the only difference between the two apparently was the tortillas ... my friend gets it and there’s a bloop of sour cream! The Amiga salad does not have sour cream. In fact, the two are entirely different but that was not stated, we were told it was exactly the same. My friend lets the waitress know the issue and takes the salad back to be fixed. The waitress comes back with the salad and no sour cream. While inspecting, the beans have sour cream residue! Are you kidding me? ? While the waitress is talking to the owners wife, my friend walks to them with the food showing them the food... one would think the owner would have someone watch the register and monitor the food to be prepped the correct way. Nope! Food comes back and there is no lettuce, Meat unseasoned as if this is a PUNKED!!!! We were looking for Ashton Kutcher to jump out from the kitchen. The waitress comes back and says ‘oh, here’s the guacamole, it’s supposed to come with it’ This was absurd, the poor lady didn’t eat! ! This would not have taken this long if it was done the correct way. While all this is happening, you can hear the other women talking in Spanish and looking at us as if we were wrong for ordering. We will NEVER RETURN TO this place! While checking out, all the owner says is ‘I’m sorry, hopefully you give us a second try. The 2 salads are different and you should have been asked about sour cream as some ppl are allergic to dairy’ lol what a joke. Never! Not even if it was free! I really loved this place as it reminded me of the southeast but I rather pay 5 dollars more for a place that will remake our food if it’s wrong, rather than scrape something off that i can be allergic too, that’s so...
Read moreI wanted to buy a gift card so I asked the person where he takes the family to eat. He said Casa Amiga, for the food and service. I had not been there. The woman at the counter, who seemed like an owner, was very helpful and knowledgeable. I’m a vegetarian and asked for a recommendation. She suggested the No Meat burrito and asked if I wanted the cheese and sour cream, attentive to my preferences. We had a pleasant conversation about lard vs oils. She is informed. I took the burrito to go. It’s big enough for two meals. It was delicious, fresh cilantro was the first thing I noticed, generous guacamole, whole beans and tasty rice. All three side sauces were amazing, nice heat on the tongue and fresh herbs. The tortilla seemed homemade, it had that slightly chewy texture, I loved it. The chips were fresh and seemed homemade also. I will definitely be back for sit down service and to bring my nieces. The piñatas are quite a site. I visited with another woman while waiting, she said she’s a regular for take out and recommends coming early as the...
Read moreA friend of mine who used to live in Grants Pass recommended Casa Amiga while I was passing through so decided to give it a shot. I give my friend 5 stars along with this place. It has been a while since I've had refried beans served with chips and after tasting them, I knew right away the food was going to be something special. The salsas that came along with that were all superb. I decided to try the Pollo a la Crema which is how I decide on how good the food is. I mean, carne asada burritos and such can be made great by many, but Pollo a la Crema, not so much. I must say, after having the same dish at 100+ restaurants over the years, I now have a new favorite and it is right here. The sauce was absolutely incredible.
The wait staff was super nice and did not walk by every 5 minutes asking how it is, which was great. The food came out faster than I was expecting but even in that time the chips and beans were devoured. When it came time for the bill, we were given a very tasty treat which you will have to find out...
