The music is so loud that they can't hear you (or each other). When we had questions about the menu, they couldn't hear us so of course they couldn't answer. They were smiling, but the service couldn't be good because of the noise. We were clearly confused and had questions. The drink has no milk in it but it tastes milky, like their machines are dirty or something. The manager was there and clearly was okay with the music being so loud that they can't hear customers or their coworkers. There are open shipment boxes (like new cups and things) outside the store which doesn't seem sanitary. We removed the automatic tipping setting on the app because there was no service worth a tip at this location.
If I were a lazy manager, I'd continue to run the shop this way because there's less work to do, you wouldn't have to answer customer's questions or take special orders, you wouldn't have to hire good workers, and you can rely on automatic tips/pressure from tipping culture. When I pulled out a stamp reward card from several years ago the girl said, oh we don't use those anymore, we use an app. I was not going to inconvenience the cars waiting behind me to install an app so I just went on my way.
