My visit to Grimaldi's turned out to be an epicurean adventure that not only pleased my palate but also left me craving more of their exquisite culinary offerings. The ambiance created a welcoming environment that set the perfect stage for the gastronomic journey that was to follow.
Upon arrival, our attention was immediately captured by the signature dish - the pizza. True to Grimaldi's reputation, the pizza was a symphony of flavors. The crust was expertly baked to a golden brown, offering a crunch that gave way to a soft and airy interior. The toppings were plentiful and fresh, each contributing to a complex yet harmonious taste profile. The harmonious balance between the tangy sauce, the creamy cheese, and the vibrant toppings crafted an experience that transcended the norms of traditional pizza. Each bite was a testament to the time-honored techniques and recipes that have earned Grimaldi's its much-deserved fame.
Next came what you called 'sliced bread with stuff on it', a delight known as bruschetta. The toasted slices of bread were generously topped with a medley of finely diced tomatoes, fresh basil, and drizzled with a vibrant olive oil. This beautiful combination was both colorful to the eyes and flavorful to the taste. The crunch of the bread complemented the juiciness of the tomatoes, while the basil added a fragrant freshness that rounded out the dish.
The Mozzarella and tomato dish we relished was the classic Caprese salad. The fresh mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, and fragrant basil created a trinity of flavors, each complementing the other. Drizzled with a balsamic reduction and a sprinkling of salt, the Caprese salad was a refreshing interlude that prepared us for the next course.
Our meal was rounded off with a classic Caesar salad. The romaine lettuce was crisp, the Parmesan cheese was nutty and sharp, and the croutons added a necessary crunch. The dressing was creamy, tangy, and peppered perfectly - it tied the salad together in a way that was both comforting and familiar.
In conclusion, dining at Grimaldi's was more than just a meal - it was a culinary experience. Each dish was thoughtfully constructed, providing a satisfying depth of flavor and texture. Grimaldi's showed a clear commitment to quality and authenticity, from their hearty pizza to the lighter but equally delectable salads. I left with a satisfied palate and the anticipation of...
Read moreSomeone told me that this place made good pizza. I wouldn’t know because we never got our pizza. My partner and I went here this evening for my Birthday. We ordered Pepsi (yuck) and a salad and a Medium pizza with pep, saus, mush, onion, red pep, blk olv, extra basil. The salad was good and they refilled my Pepsi once. All good and tasty so far, then about 30-40 minutes later, the 2 ladies sitting next to us get their pizza delivered to their table. They getting theirs before us did not seem odd because they were already sitting there when we sat down. However, the odd thing was they ordered what appeared to be our exact same pizza. What are the odds? They later mentioned it was odd that their pizza had more toppings than they ordered, but they never made a fuss about it. About another 15 minutes go by and we still don’t have our pizza. My partner was getting frustrated by this time, having decided to try a new place out that appeared to be very slow. He was hungry and getting impatient. So was I. Suddenly the waitress shows up at our table and explains that a mistake had been made and they were NOW making our pizza and that the manager had given our pizza to the 2 ladies next to us. The waitress offered to comp us a dessert on the house (I never eat dessert, but OK). I’m a patient man and I can forgive an honest mistake. Plus, I was really hungry for what was supposed to be a good pizza. Another 30 minutes go by and finally they bring out a pizza which was missing black olives, sausage and red peppers. I notified the waitress immediately and let her know we were leaving and that this was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you how the pizza was and I never will because the incompetent staff running this place could not get us the pizza we ordered even after two tries. I honestly think they gave us some other pizza either hoping we would be so hungry that we would forgive them and shrug it off or not notice. Trust me I noticed that the pizza they finally delivered to our table looked nothing like the one the other 2 ladies next to us got. I felt bad that the ladies felt bad about the whole mix up, but clearly it was not their fault. I would and cannot recommend this restaurant. I will likely never return to try the pizza. Oh well, it’s just another overly-priced chain...
Read moreWe love Grimaldis in Cleafork so we decided to take our in laws to the one in grapevine. It was a huge mistake. I am giving a star because the food is great but the service was horrible and I’m still in shock. We ordered two 16 inch pizzas and my husband ordered a Pepsi. When we ordered the Pepsi, she asked us who the Pepsi was for and I kind of brushed it off and my husband joked and said “we’ll be passing it around.” When the Pepsi came, I took a couple of sips and she came up to us and passive aggressively said “I can give y’all another cup” I told her that there is no need. She left and came back and stated that she will have to charge us for four cups because we all drank out of the Pepsi. She began stating that she doesn’t want to get in trouble if the cameras see her letting us all drink form the Pepsi. It was extremely embarrassing because she was literally harassing us over a 3 dollar Pepsi out loud in front of all the other customers when all I did was drink out of my husbands Pepsi. All of this was because my husbands joke. She then apologized for the misunderstanding and stated she was worried her manager would think she’s giving free drinks. This was a horrible experience because my husband only got ONE refill. I would understand if we had MULTIPLE refills and we ALL were drinking the Pepsi but it is ridiculous that we were being harassed over a cup of pepsi. The weirdest part is that she filled 4 cups of Pepsi free when we were leaving out of nowhere. We obviously did not take them because how embarrassing it was when she called out of in front of the whole establishment.
The waitress appeared distressed the whole time and when picking up the plates, she almost dropped them and became tearful and stated she apologizes because of a text from her mom.
The manager even knew we were obviously upset and didn’t think once to approach us and apologize. Since we were embarrassed and have some class, we did not make a scene but this horrible experience needs to be addressed. It was uncalled for.
I don’t blame this waitress completely, this location obviously has a toxic culture and poor customer service from top down.
We will be going to...
