I will start by stating this review does NOT cover all Pluckers locations… just this one. I don’t post this lightly as I love Pluckers wings but this Grapevine one is just crap.
The inside bar top only seats about 8 patrons. They have a beautiful outdoor patio and bar that’s never open. When they do let us sit at the outside bar on those ya know, beautiful spring and fall days, the bar is not clean or stocked. It’s an inconvenience for the restaurant to seat anyone outside. Don’t even try it. You’ll wait 20 minutes to be greeted then treated like an a-hole when god forbid you would like a refill.
My husband stopped by a few months ago to purchase a large catering size of their blue cheese (bc it’s amazing…) but he was not in and out like he should have been. He went to the bar first, thinking that he’d grab a beer while he waited… what seemed like the manager came up and asked if he needed anything.. he ordered a beer and the manager just walked away.. did not pour the beer, literally. walked. away. He then noticed that manager walk to a table where an employee was sitting. Being a former restaurant manager, he assumed it was a performance meeting in which someone was delegated to watch the bar (if said employee was the bartender). 15 minutes later, he approached the host as he had still not been served by the manager or anyone else. Long story short, the manager refused to let the bartender up from the table to serve my husband to finish their “conversation”. He walked out at this point due to the blatant rudeness of the situation.
We’ve ordered to go from this location as well. Pickup and delivery (mind you the app does not have a delivery option so you MUST go through uber eats or door dash…) Never fails. Something is always missing or wrong. To call out a few mishaps: One order of a wing combo was missing the fries. Another order was for 10 wings, only received 9. I order bottles of sauce often. I’m sorry but if I’m ordering a bottle of pluckers Buffalo hot, do not ask me if I want gochujang or Buffalo medium in its place… I ordered Buffalo hot wings… how do you think mixing that with any other sauce is going to taste..? The most recent order was supposed to have 8 oz of blue cheese, double celery and two ranches. We did not receive ANY celery and only 4 oz of blue cheese. I paid for these extras… granted it was only an extra like $2 but as many times as they mess up our order, it’s got to be up to around $50 of missed food. I think we’re done ordering at/from this location. But of course, pluckers can’t do anything about it bc I ordered from a third party… tighten it up pluckers in grapevine. You just lost two very loyal customers that gave you plenty of chances to redeem and failed. Good luck!

Read moreI applied for the prep/dishwasher job and got an interview. So I got there and was early which should be a good sign. I've been in the restaurant business for 11 years and have done many positions. I was approached by a manager named TODD. We introduced our selves and proceeded to a table tp do the review. He asked me to tell him a little about my self so I told him my years of experience. And how I'm always on time and don't call in. Then he started asking how much money I need each week, then he asked my availability. I told him I prefer days but I was willing to do a night if needed..then he asked how many hours was I was wanting I told him close to 40. Then he asked how much i needed to make weekly and i told him more then $500.Then he asked me what is my definition of team work and I told him everyone's job is everyone's job when someone needs help we shoukd all help each other. After that he ended my interview and Said he had several people to interview and would either send me an email stating they found someone more fit for that position or call me and let me know what I needed to do next. An hour later someone else went to an interview and got hired on the spot!! There is no reason I didn't get hired and if there was TODD should have been more direct on what he needed in availability instead of asking with no reply on his part!! I think that place had a very high turn over rate and I see why! They keep hiring the wrong people!! He asked if I ever ate there and I Said, but what does that matter!? Very unprofessional interviewing... I was told the management is mean so I'm probably better off not getting hired but there's no reason I didn't get hired with all my restaurant experience. Maybe I'm over qualified... if they are always hiring there's a reason that's for sure.. learn how to interview TODD and find the right people and you wouldn't have such a high turn over rate. Maybe I should have applied for server that's where I have my most experience.. I love people and am very attentive. I told TODD that. He could of mentioned it but for some reason he acted to be intimidated or didn't like me. I'm very...
Read moreTonight was the first time we have given pluckers a chance in several years. Years ago we tried it a few times and just couldn’t get past a couple things. They require being seated in the bar area, there is not open seating. The second and larger issue for us is that they allow children of what seemed to be all ages to sit and eat in the bar area. Who wants to eat wing, drink beer, and watch sports with a crying baby behind you? Or an 8 year old running into your seat as you pick up your drink? Why Parents would even sit in the bar area is an entirely different conversation…
Tonight we were craving wings and decided to give plucked another try. After getting back in town from traveling I called in and order. We picked up our order and drove off. At the first stop light I decided to check the order. Sure enough the 3 ranches we ordered and were charged for were missing.. to add insult, they charged a $1.06 packing fee. I paid to have our dinner packed incomplete!? I turned around and went pack inside to get our ranch sauces. The young man that was at the front counter told me I had to wait for a cashier to come back to get my missing ranch. Why he was incapable of running to the kitchen is beyond me. That just adds to the apparent incompetence of the entire staff. As I waited for the cashier I couldn’t help but think, this is just more time for the food to sit in the car and get colder.
When we did get home and unpacked the food, it was disappointing. As expected the wings were now room temperature, approaching cold. About half of the wings were over and dry. The worst of it was the waffle fries. We had one serving of plain frys that lacked any trace of salt and one serving tossed in a dry rub. Both servings were an abysmal mixture of soggy and chewy. They won’t fool me a third time....
