This place is catching so much flack right now for being a "Breastraunt" in Grapevine. I personally am not offended by these places. I love bar food so as long as my wings are good, I don't care what my waitress wears to bring them to me. We stopped by here for lunch today, myself, my husband and our two kids aged 1 and 2 1/2.
Atmosphere: to start, the restaurant it's self was clean and well lit, the tables and chairs were all clean, there was no food or greasy residue to be found anywhere. As I stated previously, we brought our two small children with us. They asked us how many and grabbed menus to seat us. The hostess explained that they did not have high chairs or booster seats, which did not deter us as we always bring our own little portable high chairs, but I can see where this would deter others with small children. Most places like this that don't offer those are trying to keep away small children without flat out saying they are not welcome. I get it, small kids are loud and messy and annoying, and it kills the vibe a place like this is trying to create. We frequent these types of establishments though so our kids know how to behave and not terrorize everyone around them. Nobody was rude our made us or our kids feel unwelcome, they seated us without issue. I will note, all but two of their tables are high-tops, which some people care about, we did not mind. Our little portable high chairs are made to fit in ant type of chair so not a problem for us at all. The ball game was on every screen. There weren't an overwhelming amount of screens, but there were enough to see one from pretty much every seat. The music they played was great, it was a good variety of old and new country music, a little rock sprinkled through here and there, and it wasn't so loud that we couldn't talk over it.
Service: Every single person we encountered was so nice. Every waitress, bartender, manager, food runners, even the buss staff were all so friendly and all smiles. All the waitresses that walked by were so nice and friendly with our kids. Our waitress was sweet and checked in on us frequently and interacted and played with our kids. They both adored her by the time we left.
Food: The menu is a good size, not huge and overwhelming, but enough variety that there's something for everyone on there and it seemed like everything was easy enough to modify. We were sat relatively close to the kitchen (it's not a big establishment so pretty much everyone is close to the kitchen) so i was able to scope out everything as it walked by. Everything looked good at the very least. Now for OUR food experience. Our food was SO GOOD. Everything we had was wonderful. We started with Chips and Queso and an order of fried mozzarella, which were both great. They tasted good and the portion sizes were good, sharable sizes that didn't leave you feeling like you didn't hardly get anything. We then got regular fries and sweet potato fries for the kids (no kids menu), I got wings, and my hubs got their version of a French dip (the cowboy dip, I think?) My wings were good, they were a good size, they had a good amount of sauce on them and the ranch was good (if you're a wing person, you know this is important). My husband's sandwich was really good, he enjoyed it. His only complaint was that the mashed potatoes it came with could've used something to give them more flavor and I agree, they needed something else. (Butter. Butter would've helped). We finished off with their Croissant Beignets, they were DELICIOUS. I wish we would've gotten an order to bring home but we had so many leftovers already. They were so light and fluffy and came with a caramel sauce that just paired perfectly with them. Also to note, their tea was good, it wasn't too sweet, and it didn't taste like that usual grapevine lake water that most places over there use to make their tea.
Overall our experience was great. We will absolutely go back, because they had a lot of beer that I wouldn't mind trying another time. I could see that being a place we go to often with or...

Updated review Sep 13,2024 Things have improved tremendously since my early visit just after it opened ( original review below). I am very pleased with our visit and dining experience and raised my rating from 3 stars to five stars. *
The service is fast and attentive. The chicken wings are better and the dry rub is fully coated each wing and plenty of it. My friend got all drums without asking or paying extra. I had the Sombrero short rib burger and it was excellent. Def try it! They have also hired some of the most attractive waiters staff I’ve seen at a place like this and they are doing a good job hustling to get orders. People are figuring it out because the place was packed on a Thursday lunch hour. Now I’d say this place is well on par or even better than Twin Peaks and it’s closer for me.
Original review
Me and my guy friends go for weekly chicken wings lunch at Twin Peaks. That’s a little far away, so I was excited when the Rowdy Cowboy opened just a few days ago. To be fair, it just opened so everything is new and it takes some time to get your rhythm.
On the plus side, the bar had a lot of TVs, so it would be a great to watch sports. The atmosphere felt comfortable and modestly upscale for a beer and chicken wings place. And the waitresses and staff were dressed in skimpy outfits and are attractive, as that’s a big selling point for this type of place. And no, this is not a place for families or kids - it’s a guys sports bar and so it’s designed for a specific male audience.
We went on Monday afternoon for lunch and it was quite busy. The nearby Hooters and Pluckers had many fewer cars. It’s all centered around a massive bar and with two bartenders, they were a bit overwhelmed and it took me about 10 minutes to get a beer. One of the key things with sports bars is the wings so that’s what we ordered. I have to say I was mildly disappointed as the wings were just average in size and nothing special in taste. The hot sauce is not hot and the cayenne pepper dry rub is not hot. They also made the inexcusable error of not tossing the wings in the dry rub, but simply sprinkling it on the top side, leaving the bottom bare of any dry rub. The guy next to me had the chicken strips salad and it looked good and he said he really liked it. They have a lot of different things on the menus, including some larger entrées, which sounded good. I’ve included pictures of the menu for this.
So for this early review, I give it three stars on service and food. I plan to come back within a couple weeks and review it again and really hope it gets better because I like the ambience of the place. Right now it’s better than the nearby Knockouts but not as good as Hooters and definitely not as good as Twin Peaks so I hope...
Read moreI had lunch today at Rowdy Cowboy, and let me tell you—this place is a game-changer. When we pulled into the packed parking lot, we thought we were in for a long wait. But even in the middle of the lunch rush, we found two open seats at their massive round bar—perfect timing.
Food (5/5 ⭐️) We ordered steak fajitas, chips and queso, and the sirloin steak burger, and everything was fantastic. The portions were way bigger than expected—I couldn’t believe the value.
Steak Fajitas – The serving size was insane. I made three loaded fajitas, and the steak was cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and packed with flavor.
Steak Burger – This was the only minor letdown. The sirloin patty was a little chewy, and I think a ribeye would’ve been a better choice. Still solid, though.
Queso & Chips – I’m not sure what they did to their queso, but it was next-level. The texture was thicker and creamier than your typical Mexican restaurant queso, and the flavor had a unique twist that I can’t quite describe—but trust me, it worked.
Service (5/5 ⭐️) Outstanding. The bartenders weren’t just friendly—they were on top of everything. We never had to ask for a thing because they anticipated our needs before we even realized we had them. It was clear this team was well-coached and worked like a machine. Bonus? They were all stunning—think fitness model-level good looks.
Atmosphere (4/5 ⭐️) They’re going for that classic “Texas” vibe, but to a real Texan, it feels a bit touristy. That said, the place is spotless—looks practically brand new. And during the lunch rush, it was packed, so they’re clearly doing something right.
Value (5/5 ⭐️) I was shocked at how cheap the food was for the portion sizes. They could easily charge 50% more, and people would still come back. Drinks were a little on the pricey side, but honestly, with the food being such a great deal, it balanced out.
Would I Go Back? (Hell Yes/5 ⭐️) Not only would I go back, but I’m probably going there for dinner tonight and lunch again tomorrow. Next on my list: Burnt End Stuffed Jalapeños and their Monster Oversized Chicken Fried Steak.
One warning: This place is not for the jealous types—the uniforms leave very little to the imagination. But when it comes to service, value, and food, Rowdy Cowboy absolutely blows away the usual “breastaurants” like Hooters and Twin Peaks. This place is the real deal.
🔥 Final Verdict: If you haven’t been to Rowdy Cowboy...
