I would love to leave a glowing review, but I can’t in good conscience recommend this restaurant to anyone has any kind of food allergy or sensitivity. I have been here twice recently with different family members, and it’s been really disappointing. While the food is tasty for me, my family who have severe gluten intolerance had a very different experience. For one, they have exactly ONE item on the menu they deem gluten-free… so okay, no big deal, this is the item they order. Absolutely no alternatives are offered or suggested - just oh you’re gluten-free? You can get this one dish. But okay, we’re not that picky. I have just learned that on trip one, my family heard them openly mocking that something gluten-free was ordered, overheard from the kitchen. Very rude and unprofessional. I understand that not everyone who claims to have a problem with gluten may have an actual issue, but that’s not for restaurant staff to speculate on. It made for a very uncomfortable atmosphere for my family member.
On the second visit, it was much worse. Same treatment as far as one dish only… made it very clear to the waiter that they can’t have gluten, and he obviously understood and recommended the same thing as before. When we received the dish, however, it was presented with fried rice and an egg roll… both very clearly not gluten-free. We flag the waiter down, and enquire just in case, and he tells us “oh yeah, those are not safe” and… walks away??? It’s on the same plate. No offer to comp, replace, anything… just a “yeah don’t eat that I guess” sort of attitude. It’s worth mentioning that this was plated entirely differently than the other visit too… on visit one, they put a side of regular steamed white rice, and no roll. So roughly half the plate my guest could not eat this time. Fortunately, she only has a moderate gluten sensitivity and was able to work around it, though she admitted it didn’t taste very good. Guest one wasn’t crazy about the dish, either. Had it been my father eating there, and had this been presented to him and he’d eaten any of it, he would have been throwing up for hours after, because his issues with it are far more severe.
They do not take food sensitivities or allergies at all seriously here, and it’s very sad to see. It is otherwise a nice restaurant and we had previously enjoyed it. A year ago, they did have more options my family could enjoy, and they were excited about eating there again. The lack of consideration will force us to...
Read moreIf you’ve never eaten here or it’s been a while since he last ate at Asian Garden then it’s time to revisit. The food has always been good, but just recently the past two times I’ve eaten there the food is phenomenal. It’s on the level of Fats The famous five star quality Chinese Food restaurant from California. We ordered a general Tso‘s chicken combo. The chicken was perfectly crunchy and the sauce was just the right blend of sweet and spicy. The chow mein noodles were full of flavor perfectly cooked and not too oily. Even the fried rice had so much flavor it was burst in your mouth without being overly salty. All of the vegetables and every part of the meal were perfectly cooked crunchy but not undercooked. The prawn appetizer included with the meal was massive and equally super crunchy. They had our food ready in about 12 minutes for four orders of General sows and an order of large soup. By the way the hot and sour soup was absolutely amazing I’ve always thought it was good there but apparently they’ve improved on that recipe as well. I contacted them to congratulate them over the phone and asked if they had gotten new chefs. They said the staff in motion to make the same but there are new managers and these new managers are kicking butt in terms of ensuring the absolute quality at all times and apparently they’ve upped the wages of all employees so I’m sure this is a great incentive to cook better food and you’re like me when food is this good I recommend you tip better to make sure all the staff is happy. Once you taste how much the quality has improved and experience a an atmosphere of excellence and a staff that puts that extra charm upon any interaction, I’m sure you will agree they deserve a nice tip. Take my word for it this is the best Chinese you can find until you get to Sacramento and even then it competes with some of the best...

Asian Garden has been my FAVORITE place to go to but with all the price hikes and the food changes I was looking forward to finding anything good to eat on the menu… I’ve gotten Almond chicken, pork chow mein, and hot and sour soup many times and since the owner changed, it was good before.. Tonight however it was all bland and the noodles were soggy to all hell yet when I called, the hostess said “oh I can assure you, our food is delicious” very customer service of her.. As well as there was nothing to be done about refund or reimbursement even though it was placed on THEIR online ordering..
…we all know Asian food is not hard to make taste good when you put in the love that is required to make such dishes… Absolutely no love of food was tasted tonight and as I am diabetic I have to unfortunately rely on the correct portions and to have already taken the amount of insulin for the amount of food I know I’m going to eat, yet NOW I have food in the garbage, low sugars, and wasted money because they refused to even consider the customer…
I was in love with Asian Garden but never again! Waste of good earned money in this terrible economy and they seem to not care one bit about it. So unfortunate
Rest in peace to the first good day I’ve...
