Coco's Candy and Creamery — Restaurant in Grass Valley

This review is so long overdue. We love this ice-cream shop. For a while when we would go the hardware or grocery store we would pass to see if it was open yet. Located in the corner by Save Mart next to the Verizon store. Little by little we watched the progress. Then one day it looked open. We parked and went in and had the best butter brickle ice-cream. I've never tried it before and now it's my favorite. We were able to meet the owners who told us there was a grand opening coming up and asked us to stop by. We had the grandkids that weekend and when they are here we are always making a trip to downtown Grass Valley for ice-cream. (not the same owners but there is a connection) This location is so much more convenient for us and it got a high approval rating from our grandson. Because it's not as crowded, he was able to look at all the other goodies that are for sale on the shelves. There are more tables and space so you can sit down and eat your treats. Larger groups of people are able to gather. If the weather is nice, tables and chairs are also provided outside. I am always buying Jelly Belly licorice mix for myself. This store carries a lot of Jelly Belly but they didn't have my licorice mix but it was on its way. Again, the store was still getting set up and stocked. The owner took my name and number. A few weeks later I got a call saying my favorite candy was in stock. How nice. It's in bulk so I was able to go in and tell them how much would fit in my candy jar and that's what I got. I eat more of this than I should. Glad I don't have to buy 5 of the Jelly Belly small bags to fill it up anymore. I'm writing this review today but we have been to the store many times since the opening with and without the grandkids. If you haven't tried this new ice-cream shop, please do. I came in here 3 days after they opened! They opened October 13! They are located at 2072 Nevada City Highway in Grass Valley ( in the Fowler center). What a great new shop! It has candy..chocolates..italian ice and more! They have plenty of parking! My favorite was the dark chocolate turtle shaped like a turtle ( see my photos). The owner is friendly and helpful. They are finishing a separate room for kids parties. Its nicely decorated and has indoor seating. Smells so good inside! I will be back because it has such a great location! Coco's has all of the same charm it always had before they rebranded. The candy and ice cream are still to die for, and the new location looks great! The staff that helped us were very sweet (just like the candy!) and they have a very large selection of options for both ice cream, chocolates, and various other candies. They also have a party room on the side for hosting birthdays or other celebrations.
