Mimi & Pipi’s Casa Italiana — Restaurant in Grayling

Honestly the best dining experience I can say worldwide! My wife and I stopped in on a Tuesday and were more than pleasantly surprised. First was the wine with fresh raspberries a shangrala, excellent quality and the raspberries were delightful to eat right from the glass! Next was the bread basket 2 different bread styles with the multiple spice olive oil dip, extremely delicious! We did not order a appetizer due the the entrees that our waitress suggested! I was eyeing the New York strip and was not disappointed! Best steak ever, the cut was perfect, perfectly seasoned with a garlic butter to top it off, still makes my mouth water writing this review! Next the garlic mashed potatoes excellent, followed by the grilled seasoned vegetables absolutely amazing and I am not a vegetable guy! There was nothing left on my plate! My wife ordered the Shrimp Alfredo after the first bite she looked at me and stated " This is the best Alfredo Sauce I have ever had".... We sampled each others meals as we do and just looked at each other in utter disbelief on how perfect the meals taste, texture and everything to perfection, seriously in Grayling Michigan! Next we tried a few desesrts, the special ice cream with a chocolate covered waffle bowl....wow just wow... I ordered the carmel chessecake..... I have a food fetish on cheesecake hands down the best I have ever had! This restaurant in my opinion just put Grayling on the map for the best restaurant to travel to as a destination for "The Finest Dining Ever" To top that off the atmosphere is 100% class! Wow. Knew this place was coming, but blown away by the experience. The decor was very stylish, and the food was fantastic. The bolognese was fabulous and unique. The menu covered the Italian staples and then some. I sat at the bar and took it all in. I took a picture of the bar just because I thought it was so stylish. The place was pretty busy and yet service was on top of it. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. While it was all wonderful, the best part for me was that they kept the red wine at the correct temperature ( a pet peeve of mine)! Kudos for having an appropriate wine refrigeration system! I was also impressed that the pricing was very reasonable, especially for the quality they were delivering. Sage was the bartender and quite personable. She made the perfect wine pairing suggestion and obviously enjoyed working there, making it an even more enjoyable experience. Jacob the general manager was knowledgeable and obviously excited to be part of the place. Very customer focused. Definitely knew his wine and created a fun environment. Finally, I got to meet the proprietors, Matt and Christine. Their passion for the restaurant and Grayling was contagious. They were humble and excited to provide such a “new” dining experience for the community, it was touching. The community seems to have responded very positively. I honestly don't know where to begin.The host was amazing. Made a special effort to check on us a couple times throughout our meal. Management was over the top spectacular, going out of their way to celebrate our honeymoon, the little things like the chef delivering our apps so we could thank him before preparing our meal really made us feel like the only ones in such a hopping atmosphere. Now our service, I wish I made a better effort to remember our servers name. She defines fine dinning experience. My wife and I met at a fine dining establishment so we understand the attention to detail, the double seating. Yet she made us feel like we had the spotlight. We celebrated the end of our honeymoon here. It could not have been a more perfect dinner for our final night. Omg the food, I could cry about how amazing and original the bruchetta was. I couldn't dream of a more pleasant taste and texture combo. The toast was crispy yet soft. Hard to explain, definitely a must try. The drinks oh my the exquisite dream cicle. I've never seen my wife Finnish let alone have another in the 6 years we have dated. This place really deserves a reward. 10/5. This is the one thing grayling was missing but never knew it needed. I personally thank the owners and the staff for such an amazing dinning experience. Thank you for bringing this gem into existence. I tip my hat, was truly the best dinning experience I've ever been lucky...
