I haven't been to Dairy Queen in years but chose to go to the one on Atlanta Highway last week for an ice cream cone. The cone was priced at about $4.25, which was insane. I felt like I would go back again, so I went to a DQ that was closer to my area, and it was the new Dairy Queen.
This was a couple days after my initial visit to the other store. The store was clean, the service was fast, and the food was good, except for the fries which were very cold even though they just brought it to me after waiting for about 5 minutes.
After eating in the empty restaurant, I ordered a dipped cone, and the price came up to $3.59, which to me was a great deal compared to the other Dairy Queen. Since I so much enjoyed my first visit here, I took a family member a few days later for a second visit only to be sorely disappointed.
I went up and waited for someone to come so I can order my food, and my family members stood next to me. I simply ordered a burger and told them the fries were cold last time, so I would pass on getting a combo. As soon as a guy took my order he walked away as if my family member wasn't standing right there waiting to order. That was very rude.
A lady walked up, the same one who made my dipped cone last time, and she apologized and took his order. We went to sit down, and my family member went to get a drink. We were there maybe 10 minutes, and still we didn't get our food. I sent him up for the burgers, but they only came out with one. I literally finished my burger, and I eat super slow, before he got his food.
He went back up asking for his burger, and the lady who took his order thought that he had gotten his food, not considering that I had also ordered as well. He apologized and brought out his Burger and Fries, which were surprisingly hot this time. There was no ketchup at any of the tables, even though last time there was a ketchup bottle that I used.
When we were almost ready to go, I ordered a dipped cone, which is my favorite and the reason why I go to Dairy Queen and have gone there over the decades. This girl came with my dipped cone, which was smaller than normal for a large, and she held it with her bare hands that had long nails. I was so surprised, and I asked where the napkin was. Why the hell would you touch anyone's food and deliver it to them in a time like this?
I didn't want to be problematic, so I figured I would clean the portion that she touched and take off the throw away piece of paper wrapped around it. She dipped it again, but they never did the cone low enough, so all of the ice cream oozes out of the bottom and messes up everything while you are trying to eat it. After getting my ice cream delivered to me like that, I decided I won't be going back to this DQ for a while if ever.
I ended up throwing the bottom portion away later on when I got home. I was very disappointed with this visit. Too many young kids working there running around like chickens with their heads cut off and not knowing what to do. It seems like they need someone who's more experienced to be in charge, especially in the evenings.
Also, wear some damn gloves! Coronavirus is serious, and as long as I come up coronavirus free, I don't plan on going back here until they straighten things up, especially their customer service and lack of...
Read moreWe used to avoid the Loganville DQ and make the extra drive to Grayson DQ. However, the past few visits to the Grayson DQ have been awful. Our visit yesterday was the last straw. Our fist sign should have been that NO ONE was inside the restaurant or in the drive thru when we arrived during normal lunch hours. The young man taking our order didn’t ask if we wanted it “for here or to go”, didn’t know how to scan a coupon, and didn’t wear gloves when placing the spoons and lids on our blizzards (nor did he wash hands between touching the register/handling cash and touching the food). Secondly, while he was trying to figure out the coupon entry, the cooks had finished our food and was under the hot lamp. I had to tell the young man at the register that the order was To-Go. When he finally finished the coupon entry, he turned around and said to the cooks, “man this is to go.” The cook replied, “you should have entered that in the order, man.” (In which I wholeheartedly agree.) Lastly, when we turned around to fill our drinks at the self-serve soda station, there was a HUGE, dead cockroach in the middle of the floor/walkway. There were also no straws at the drink station. It is evident that neither management nor the workers care about this Dairy Queen. There needs to be a complete revamp of management and staff before we will ever eat at this DQ...
Read moreUpdated 1 star review from April 22, 2022 As much as I like Dairy Queen blizzards, ice cream, hamburgers and onion rings this location continues to have serious issues with their soda fountain drinks. And when I say sodas I mean the mixture of the Coca-Cola products. This is the third time that I’ve had issues. Today I started out with a root beer it was a no go, then asked for a cherry coke and it was a no go. Finally I asked for a sweet tea it was fine and as it should be. The unfortunate part of this visit was how the gentleman at the drive thru handled it. He gave me a look of disdain For asking for a simple soda that taste the way it should. By the time he got the sweet tea to me he basically slammed the window shut while not saying one word. If I was the manager or the owner I would be having a conversation with this young man to help him understand customer service.
5 star review in 2021. A quick shout out to the owner of the Grayson location who assisted me with my order when the App failed miserably. The owner was very helpful and tried to resolve the issue. He was concerned enough to ensure I would not be charged multiply times and even made a follow up call with me to ensure no duplicate charges happened. It’s not every day you see this type action but it sure...
