Nice venue for the 2 stars. Below are some facts regarding our customer service experience. Use it however you see fit :

Booked a viewing, got there and the person that was supposed to show us the place was not there. Told us there was a mishap...had to wait... No final correspondence or confirmation prior to event. No request for feedback after the event either. Likely to be told your event was not on their system a few days before when YOU call to confirm. Not them...you. Whether it took 2 mins or 10 mins for you to realize...that should not have happened. Imagine if we didn't call to confirm...we got there that day and there was nothing or no one because it didn't show on your calendar? If I have paid 1000s of dollars, I don't expect to hear, " I don't see your event...are you sure you paid?" days before the event. Unacceptable! Be prepared for little to no onsite support the day of the event. On the day of the event, the person left and told us she was 5 mins away and that we should call her when we need her. On one of the occasions we called, we were told " it will take some time'... verbatim. This was a few mins before the event started. ps: The same person left a comment on my sister's review to say it was because there was negative energy. I mean really? You are providing a service so that is what you need to focus on. There wasn't but let's assume there was; everyone in the event business knows it can be stressful but that doesn't mean you abandon your job...who does that?! We asked you to take chairs out because there was more than we asked for, bring some more food tables like we originally asked for, etc. How is that demanding? Isn't that what the service is for? Finally, be prepared to get slandered after you leave a bad review instead of taking accountability, and seeking to do better. That is the most disappointing. The reply is full of lies (example, we have time stamp to prove when we got there for the viewing and called but she claims we were late....we can gladly post the time stamp and date. Also feel free to pull your camera that day for evidence)

These are facts. Based on the other reviews, it is likely that they had better experiences but we certainly didn't. This should be an opportunity to do better. We all have bad moments but your response and attitude towards feedback makes a difference.

ps: You stated in your reply to my sister's review that our mother (the celebrant) thanked you after the event, which I guess is supposed to be an indication that you did a good job? Lol. Yes, our mother thanked you after the event was over (and all the vendors) like any respectful person would. It was her day and we shielded her from everything but trust me, we told her about our experience with you after.

I have never left this detail of a review but I feel compelled to. I can provide anyone the names of the other vendors/ people who were there to attest to the above. Our food vendor kept asking us venue related questions and we had to tell her the person is not there. Ps: These are first hand experiences. My sister and I planned this event, was at the viewing, managed all coordination and was there the day of the event in that capacity as well in an attendee capacity! I have evidence of correspondence (email and phone) with owner (including one regarding payments), and evidence showing physical presence and experience. I am not just a friend according to the reply....to be very clear.

Lovely space and rooftop. The space is perfect for a more intimate gathering and doesn’t require much decor. Very easy to transform for an event as well.

HOWEVER, the customer service (Ms Rochelle) was really lacking for a number of reasons.

We scheduled a tour of the space after we had made initial payments only for the owner to forget the tour or that we were the ones who had booked the space. Apparently some other people had come to view the space and she presumed without confirming that it was us and left. Be prepared for this to be blamed on the system. Secondly, during this tour we went over the details of the event laying the set up out very clearly. She assured us everything would be as discussed on the day of the event. A couple of days before the event I called to make a confirmation only to be told there was no event, this was AFTER the final payment was taken a month before. I was now told I probably hadn’t made the payments and to hold, after which she told me she lost my booking because of correspondence. The correspondence had been to schedule two tours of the space. Once again, this was blamed on the system. We had also paid for an extra hour for set up. At the time of these payments, she was very clear with communication yet somehow forgot the booking! Subsequently, she told me she found the booking then proceeded to ask questions of what we wanted as though none of this was previously discussed during the tour. On the day of the event when we arrived she provided us with carts and disappeared. There was no one on hand for any questions or even for any of the initial set up. The table set up was wrong. I was told to call her and she would come if needed though the office is 5 minutes away by car. On one of the calls 15 minutes to start she told me it would take a while though the event was starting shortly.

I would not recommend using this space and suggest...

I recently hosted my daughter’s Sweet 16 at Building One Events in July, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we stepped in, we were blown away by the venue's stunning ambiance. But what truly set Building One Events apart was the exceptional professionalism and dedication of the owner. From the initial planning stages to the night of the event, she was attentive, accommodating, and genuinely committed to making my daughter’s special day flawless. She made sure the entire night was stress-free for us, allowing us to fully enjoy the festivities.

Overall, Building One Events exceeded our expectations in every way. If you're looking for a beautiful venue this is the place to be! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience....
