As Nick & Tom's website indicates, they have been a west side tradition since 1988. I have eaten there numerous times over the years as it is one of the closest restaurants to my in-laws' house. They often are packed solid on weekend evenings, including my most recent visit with my wife. We took a few minutes without the kids to have a quieter dinner date while the kids played with their grandparents. Surprisingly we found a wait for a table on a random Saturday in January. But we were able to find a table in the bar by the time we ordered a drink at the bar. My wife and I shared the Biehl Street Sprouts ($10) with crispy Brussels sprouts, bacon, pecans, and goat cheese. These were delicious and I highly recommend them! The Brussels sprouts alone would have been good but add in the smoky bacon with the sweeter pecans and goat cheese and these should not be skipped! For dinner, I had the Mediterranean Pasta with chicken ($13.50). This combination of feta, sun-dried tomatoes, black olives, pepperoncini, basil, oregano, and garlic on vermicelli pasta is a Cincinnati Magazine Silver Spoon Award winner. Though the award seems to be from 10 years ago, the flavors are still a pretty good combination. The addition of a well-seasoned chicken breast was a good choice and I wouldn't recommend having the pasta without it. Overall Nick & Tom's is a solid restaurant, made even better by the lack of other good choices in the immediate area. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I ate dinner at this restaurant last night. I was in the mood for steak and surprising to me, our two regular steakhouses were booked solid on a Thursday night! This restaurant is close to our house and had open tables so we rushed over. We have been to this restaurant many times in the past and it is a good solid choice for a delicious meal. I started my experience with a gin martini that was full to the rim and had floating ice crystals which I really enjoy. As an appetizer we ordered the cream cheese stuffed mushrooms which are a wonderful favorite ,full of flavor. My main course was the filet mignon. I asked for it rare and our server Brett suggested Pittsburgh style which is exactly as I like it, very rare and almost just seared on the outside. Brett was a terrific server, friendly, attentive, and always checking to make sure that we were happy. My steak was really delicious and a very generous size. My husband had a hamburger smothered in cheese which he said was equally delicious. I am sure that we will be returning in the future now that I know they also serve terrific steaks along with many varied dishes to suit everyone's palette.

Nick & Tom's is one third of the culinary trifecta of the Westside. Prior to our visit tonight it had been at least 10 years since our last visit. It was very busy for a Wednesday evening and we waiting about 10 minutes prior to being seated. Our server arrived immediately after we were seated and promptly took our drink orders. We started with the Bavarian Pretzel Sticks and were pleasantly surprised how fresh they were and how great they tasted. The accompanying cheese dip for the pretzels was not your usual processed cheese dip, it had great flavor and was really delicious. We had the the Chicken Club and Barbara Salads for our main entrees. The greens were incredibly fresh, the grilled and blackened chicken were cooked to perfection, and the dressings were outstanding. We finished our meal with the blackberry cobbler and it was okay, but didn't live up to the standard of the rest of our meal. The cobbler was very tart and the crust was too doughy for our taste. Would absolutely recommend a visit if you haven't been before or if it has been a while since your last visit.

I choose Nick and Tom's for my birthday dinner. Me and my boyfriend ordered the Filet. Both of our steaks were supposed to be cooked to medium. One was medium rare..the other was in between rare and medium rare. We tried to eat them the way it was, as we didnt want to complain and ruin the evening..however the steak that was more rare was just too rare.I told the server about the steak being too rare and that I had already cut into it and was concerned with over cooking and she told me they would make me another one.The cook or manager came out asking if he could throw it back on the grill, not giving me the option of what was previously promised. I explained that I dont like sending Filet back after it's been cut into due to fearing the steak would dry out and overcook. The manager/cook didnt honor the previous offer of a new steak, or offer alternate replacements. I understand that no one wants to waste a steak when it could be thrown back on the grill, however if they knew how to properly cook a steak they wouldnt have to run into this situation. The steak wasnt slightly undercooked, as I could deal with that, it was very uncooked and any reputable restaurant that cooks steaks would have not undercooked a filet this much. I was disappointed that I didnt get to eat my birthday dinner but even more disappointed how the management reacted. My boyfriend took his home so he could microwave the rest of his steak as after eating half of it he discovered it wasnt cooked evenly and was also very...
