Don't let the name fool you - this place is no joke! Wide variety of sushi to choose from - cooked and raw - as well as a variety of other selections from traditional Asian cuisine - noodles, soups, fried rice, and hibachi (no front of house grill experience). You get surprising quality and generous amount for the prices, and the sushi chefs really take the time to think about presentation. Plenty of seating for big or intimate groups, including the sushi bar, it is already becoming a popular staple, located in the heart of the White Oak Shopping Center. They also have a reward program and are in the process of acquiring their liquor license, which will make it even more desirable! The best part about this place is the atmosphere! The staff are super friendly and manager, Dia, takes the time to appreciate your support. They understand the value of a customer and their business and work with a sense of gratitude - uncommon for many restaurants that just feel like they are going through the motions. Whether taking the kids out for dinner or looking for a fun place to hang with friends, I highly recommend Yummy Sushi! I will be coming back...
Read moreI ordered the chicken teriyaki dish. The picture on the menu looks delicious with lots of vidggies on it. I was most looking forward to the Vegetables. What I receive was chicken placed over about half an onion, with two pieces of broccoli, no zucchini, and 2 carrot skin. The chicken and rice was very good but the vegetables we all barley cooked and almost raw. I couldn't eat the onion and I love onions when they are cooked.
I asked the waitress why I didn't get as much veggies as in the photo on the menu and she Said, "... that's just a picture. More broccoli and zucchini is extra." I asked why my food doesn't match the menu and she just said she'd get me more veggies. The veggies that did finally come were also barley cooked. I think they just microwaved them. My family members who ordered the hibachi had veggies that were fully cooked and tender.
I enjoyed the Chicken and rice I got but was extremely let down by the veggies. We spoke to the manager, Joe, and he made things right and took...
Read moreIs there a word better than amazing? The west side of town does not have a choice for sushi and/ or hibachi restaurants. This place is a godsend. I have never had tuna so fresh and buttery before. I sampled The Spicy Tuna Gyoza which is a fresh take on gyoza. I also had the Highway 74 Roll which was amazing. The Amazing Tuna roll was the best role I have ever had in my life. Big succulent pieces of seared tuna with black pepper on it. My son had the kids habachi meal. The pieces of chicken we're tender and juicy. The owner/ head chef even came out to see how we were enjoying our meal and even gave us suggetions on what to try on our next visit. He said they were from New York and studied the best restaurants there to bring the best here. You could hear the love for what he does. We will definitely be back. The westside of town has been waiting for a...
