I was 8 months pregnant and ordered a couple of pizzas for a group of people I had over my house. I drove the quick drive to Tony's--about one minute--and asked if the pizzas could be delivered. The young girl said yes, so I told her that's what I want and even made a point to let her know that I lived super close. I ordered the pizzas, was told they'd be delivered soon, and I went back home to wait. And wait. And wait. I waited with my hungry group of friends for an HOUR and since I was pregnant that meant that I became more and more sick to my stomach as the time passed. I finally called in to ask what was going on and they told me my pizzas had been ready for a long time now. Sitting on their counter. I asked why they hadn't been delivered. "You didn't ask for that," was the response, at which point I reminded the teenager of our conversation. "I didn't realize you wanted them delivered," she responded. "Well, generally when you ask for pizzas to be delivered to your house, that's a given," I responded. "Well, you can't get the deal you got with delivery anyway," she said smartly. "Well, why didn't you tell me that when I asked for it to be delivered?" I asked, hugely uncomfortable, sick to my stomach, and starving. "You didn't ask for delivery." I was getting nowhere. "Well, I need my pizzas. How can I get them?" "They're cold now." "Well, you're going to need to make me more," I said. Since I'd already paid, I didn't feel like going through the trouble of canceling my order. "That will be another 20 minutes." she said. I hung up the phone, took a deep breath, and determined to be kind and considerate no matter how badly I was being treated. Me and my party waited about 15 minutes and then I returned to get the pizzas. They gave them to me without apology, explanation, or discount. After waiting AN HOUR for pizzas that had gone cold and they never intended to deliver, I expected at least an apology for my wait, though a discount or free pizzas would have been more appropriate. I just said "Thank you," and left, trying not to let my anger get the best of me. It was such an awful experience, I'm sure to warn everyone I know about the lack of customer service I experienced. After all that, the pizzas were amazing and delicious, but they weren't worth the hassle and I do my best never to...
Read moreA few months back me and my family stopped in at Tony's Pizza for their sub special. We all ordered steak and cheese subs. My moms was a special cheesesteak with all the fixings. Our waitress was very friendly and had a smile on her face. There was only two Caucasian teenagers working in the place. The rest of them were her Hispanic. My mom received her sub. She took one bite of it and all of her onions and green peppers were gone. Our waitress asked her if she would like to get more for her sub mom said no it would be okay. However, the waitress assisted went and asked the cook for green peppers and onions. The cook asked the waitress who was it for. She pointed to my mom. He proceeded to look at her and then laugh. She brings over more peppers and onions. She puts it on her sub. Takes a bite of it. She had to spit it out because it made her mouth so hot that the cook was a smart-ass and gave her a jalapeno peppers instead of green. I asked the teenage boy to have the sandwich replaced and he agreed., the manager of the store argued with the teenage boy and proceeded to tell him that it will not be replaced. Then he proceeded to look at me and tried to give back my old sandwich in place of a new one. I proceed to tell him that was not the new sandwich that it was the old one that I brought up. He proceeded to tell me he was not going to refund my money back. Was not going to make me a new sandwich and if I did not leave he was going to call the police. because they have smart asses working in there and thought it was funny to give my mom. Who is 72 years old jalapeno peppers to eat. I used to work there back in the day (94) as a driver. Wonderful place. So was the people. However, after this new management it's a terrible place. I would not recommend my dog or anyone else to eat there.
I also told the manager on my way out. who acted like the owner that Joe and the old management would not have treated their customers like...
Read moreJust moved nearby and after seeing the place so much, I figured we would try their steak & cheese subs out. I am a big fan of steak & cheese subs, having tried them at over 60 different places on the east coast.
The subs were about half the size around as the average steak and cheese sub. The meat tasted bland, unsalted/unseasoned and the texture was as if it had come out of a frozen pack of Steak-ums from the grocery store, but worse.
I asked for black olives, cooked mushrooms, raw onion, green pepper, mayo & provolone cheese. The onion was good, as was the green pepper. There was no taste or sign of mayonnaise whatsoever. I received about 1 full black olive cut into pieces on my sub, as-well as they skimped dramatically on the mushroom just as heavily too.
This isn’t something I would’ve fed my dog, and our subs (both identical and both equally skimped/horrible) were by far the worst steak and cheese subs we have both ever tried, aside from one place in Myrtle Beach that gave me rotten cheese and old stale bread.
I was hoping that our experience would’ve been different, as it would have been nice to frequent and support this local business. However I don’t find it worthwhile to spend money at a place that can’t even salt/season meat and that charges the same price as other businesses with the same product that will give you not only better quality food, but also a sub that is twice as large around and overload you with the toppings you ask for rather than skimp you to the point that it’s as if half of your toppings didn’t even exist.
Will not be returning. Money is better off...
