Decent food, but definitely way too expensive for what it is. If you’re in Greenfield it’s a reasonable option but if you can drive, nearby expensive restaurants like the Blue Heron offer the same, if not better, food for essentially the same cost. Here’s what we ordered, and what we thought of it: - The Seafood Scampi has “scallops, shrimp and crab meat” and when it says scallops, they mean the bare minimum number of them to be able to list scallops as plural, i.e. two. My friend and I both ordered it and counted to confirm we both got two scallops, three shrimp, and some heavily diffused, presumably originally canned, crab meat. I understand restaurants need to inflate costs for dishes to stay in business but in this economy, that amount of seafood for a dish that costs 26 dollars is ridiculous. As my boyfriend joked, “Seafood Scampi, more like Seafood Skimpy!” - The pork chops were good, nicely cooked and smoky, albeit maybe a little tough. - The “Catalan board” (as someone who actually lived there and speaks Catalan, I can promise you it is not really all that Catalan) was creative with the use of fried manchego, but the romesco itself was pretty bland. - The mussels were well cooked. The tomato sauce it was cooked in was flavorful but a bit overpowering and made the mussels mostly taste like a tomato soup. It comes with one piece of toast, and when my friend asked for more for dipping into the remaining sauce, we later saw that we were charged a dollar per slice. Cocktails: - I got the “Coco Mojo.” Nothing wrong with it per se but not really something I wanted to finish (and didn’t.) Would not have ordered had I known. - The Rhubarb Gin Sour is a solid choice but not particularly strong in terms of Rhubarb flavor. - The 24K Magic was good! My only other note is they had a weird lamp height above our table which I unfortunately hit my head on while sitting down. Not a big deal, but a little frustrating that the server did not seem concerned at all about that, despite standing right there.

Hope & Olive is a small restaurant in the center of Greenfield, on a side street that offers you views of the temporary fire station and the brick walls of the courthouse. It has a gorgeous bar. The staff are incredibly friendly. The coffee was weak. I was there for an hour and a half, and only managed to get one refill. The server was friendly but not very available. I was a party of six, and we ordered various items from the brunch menu. Pictured is the Big Ol' Greek platter. Advertised as a lamb burger with dolmas, tahini, pita, feta, and olives. Came as a pre-shaped ground lamb patty tossed on top of some baby spinach, no bun or cheese or topping, no pita, four olives, two crumbs of feta, and a watered down drizzle of tahini. Two unadvertised falafel nuggets, deep fried rock hard, were included. One intact dolma. One member of my party ordered waffles and it came with a massive lump of something he wasn't sure was whipped cream or whipped butter; its proportions suggested whipped cream but there was no sugar. He just put it to the side. One member of my party ordered the Polish platter and said it was "a mess". A lifelong vegetarian ordered the vegetable frittata but found it "too weird" to finish. The creme brulee was amazing. I find it important to add that this restaurant is extremely popular with its regular patrons, and at this brunch was absolutely packed with people. The acoustics are such that the volume was louder than a high school cafeteria. Conversation with anyone not sitting next to you is impossible.

This place was incredible! The service was so friendly & upbeat that I felt like I was the highlight of their day. Really....it was refreshing. Our first server came in on her day off to help & was a GD JOY! When she left, she let us know we would be wrapping up service with another person. It was a really great experience. The menu is well written & executed. The servings are perfectly sized. All 3 of us finished our meals & commented on the fact that we never do that. I think it was because there were a couple of veg sides that helped round out the food without stuffing you. I had the pork schnitzel. Sorry, no pic cuz I inhaled it. The drink menu is great as well. Here's a pic of the bell by the door...it rings in the kitchen. Daw! Nice touch.

I have lived in Franklin County for many years and I don't know why I have not eaten here before. My son took me to dinner for a Mother's Day gift and I'm so glad that he has such great taste in restaurants. The whole experience was just wonderful. We had to wait a little bit for a table due to us not calling ahead for a table and I think that there might have been an area school graduation. It was well worth the wait and the staff was more than welcoming and accommodating to us while we were waiting for a table. The atmosphere was very warm and inviting. The staff was very kind and welcoming. They all worked together to make sure that everyone had what they needed and didn't have to wait if your wait staff was busy helping another customer. The food was amazing and so fresh and delicious. The ingredients used all paired well together to create a mouthful of happy tastebuds. If you are looking for a place to eat where you feel like a guest and not just another customer then I would strongly recommend that you experience a meal with Hope & Olive. The prices are well within the range of what you will experience if you stop by and allow them to serve you a meal that you will not soon forget. I can't wait to return to enjoy another amazing meal. So nice to have such a gem right in town and not just another fly by night chain restaurant. Thank-you to my son for a wonderful...
