A friend of my gf told us that this was "The best Thai food in the Pioneer Valley". I would have to very strongly disagree...
I have been to dozens of Thai restaurants across the US and like to consider myself a good judge of Thai dishes. I haven't been impressed much yet with New England Thai food in general and still this place is quite average at best.
I will say that our appetizers (pork dumplings and shrimp wontons) were tasty and the dipping sauces paired well with them. Those aren't specific Thai items though. The Crazy Noodles were also good, the best item we ordered, it was cooked well and the noodles were not all clumped together. If you do go here, order a noodle dish.
All the other dishes were disappointing. The worst was the Ginger stir-fry, they clearly used frozen vegetables because everything in it was mushy, watery, and bland. In fact i'm pretty sure i've bought this exact frozen mix at Costco.. which is strange because the veggies in other dishes tasted fresh. The the ice probably melted into the sauce since that was watery as well. We couldn't even finish it. Tom-ka-gai is my favorite soup by far, this one was basically just coconut milk with a couple pieces of chicken and mushroom. They say they use galangal but I didn't taste it at all, same for lemongrass and lime. No spice at all really. Very bland for a soup that should have incredible flavor. The green curry was decent, it did have some flavor but lacked the complexity i've tasted at good Thai restaurants.
Overall, just an average thai restaurant, not terrible but far...
Read moreI tried to phone in the order at first. The woman who answered the phone seemed to be speaking to several people at once, kept talking over me and not listening to or understanding me. It was very chaotic and confusing. I could barely understand a word she said and would strongly recommend they put someone with better English on the phone.
After that, I ordered the food online. After picking it up and returning home, I found that they had forgotten to include the rice, even though it had been listed on the receipt. When I called, she sounded surprised and did not apologize. I had ordered the food for a friend's birthday celebration but had to leave her while I went to pick up the rice. No apology, no offer of money off a future meal, and no complementary small dish which would have been appreciated. Because of the delay, our dinner was lukewarm (I don't have a microwave) and dinner was delayed by at least 30 minutes. We would have had a better evening if I had cooked dinner as I usually do....
Read moreI've been coming to this restaurant for about 13 years despite the fact that I live 45 minutes away. I've been saddened and disappointed to see how far downhill they have fallen in the last couple of years. They used to be a quaint fine dining spot with clean white tablecloths and staff neatly dressed in black. Now someone dressed in sweatpants and a knit winter hat drops a plastic tray off at your table. They don't even use dishes any longer. You are served your food in the same plastic containers you would receive it you ordered take out. The food has gone down with their service. Pad Thai with mushy noodles, lack of tamarind, and no peanuts is now mediocre at best. Their curry dishes likewise also missing ingredients. I go less and less now... twice in the last year. When paying a premium for these meals, I expect them to do better. They're clearly not even trying...
