Breakfast til around 10:30am weekdays and home-style cooking as an early lunch after is served in a small, cramped restaurant. Often very packed to be so small and they close way too early. They only serve breakfast Sat. and are closed Sun. If they were smart, they would get another larger location in town with extended hrs 7 days a week.
Update: Got bad service for the first and last time there on 1/30/2019. I was there with someone for breakfast. She's much pickier than I am and when the food came out, she asked that her sausage be taken back because it was cold along with her home fries. The waitress took it back, but we later found it was not removed from the bill. My guest got very upset. I spoke very calmly with the owner about it and he was a complete jerk. He said the food was hot when it came out and we were trying to scam him and that he'd been in business 30 years. I told him I could understand if there's a policy here that returned food is non-refundable, but my issue was that the waitress should've said that before she took the food. Now the food has been thrown away and the owner refuses to refund the money or replace the food. In addition, he told us to never come back. He had seen me there often and he was actually stupid enough to want to lose 2 customers over about $3 or $4 of food. The crazy old man needs to learn to treat customers with respect or retire and close down. I had no time to argue so I paid the full bill. Overall the food was good there, but I lost ALL respect for this establishment in one day thanks...
Read moreI've never in my life had this experience in a restaurant. It was like having lunch/dinner that my Grandparents would make. It was the most classic American dining experience I've ever had. The Country fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes, and a biscuit Absolutely blew my mind. I could not even finish a third of my food and had to take it to go.
Everything was obviously made from scratch and in house. The atmosphere was incredibly warm. You walk in, seat yourself, someone takes your orders, and you pay on the way out.
The whole place was packed and it was cozy, comfortable, people were laughing, everyone was polite. THIS restaurant embodies what true American dining should be. I went in for the first time today (We heard the people working there refer to us as "The newlyweds" which was a little funny because we are almost hitting our 7th wedding anniversary) and it was just.... So beyond anything I could have expected or hoped for. It was incredible.
The prices are amazing too. My wife and I both have enough from our one meal to have our lunch, a snack, AND dinner, and including tip I don't think we passed $23.
I'm going to start finding excuses to go...
Read moreMy Party of Three came in during the lunch hour it was extremely busy but we were able to come in and get a seat. The waitress was very attentive the service was good and the food was great. One of my co-workers had the special which was fried flounder and two veggies I had the country fried steak and two veggies and another member of my table had chicken tenders and two sides and a huge biscuit. My meal came out very hot the meat was tender and the meal was very well seasoned to my surprise. I had the choice of biscuit or cornbread I chose cornbread and the cornbread reminded me of the way my grandmother made cornbread with just a hint of sugar so it was sweet and very delicious I would give them 10 Stars if I could and I will be returning for lunch. I am a very...
