Taqueria El Torito — Restaurant in Greensboro

Didn't read the reviews before eating here, but I wish I had so I'd known not to bother.

I don't typically mind rude service since it usually means the food is gonna hit. The lady was kind of funny because twice she asked us if we were ready and then got annoyed and stopped us when we started saying our order because she herself wasn't ready yet. But the bad service was accompanied with bad, overpriced food that really made the whole experience not worth it.

We spent $33 on 2 tacos, 1 burrito, 1 elotes, 1 mango loco. Wouldn't have minded the price if the food was good, but it wasn't. Carne tasted pretty bland. Burrito was just okay. Highlights were the shrimp taco and elotes. Mango loco was too much for us, but that could just be our taste since we don't like tajin that much and it was like 70% tajin 30% mango lol. Quantity overall was pretty small and we were still a little hungry after which shouldn't be the case for $33 of food.

I used to LOVVVVE this place. I have recommended at least 20 people to go here, who have also enjoyed it in the past. Prices have increased to an unreasonable amount. I do understand that we have an inflammation issue going on, but the quality of the food has stooped tremendously. My esquites that I ordered tonight was 75% mayonnaise and 25% corn. I’m disgusted. It’s not edible. Service is below par. I walked in to play a pickup order for 4 tamales which are already cooked and ready and a cup of esquites. She told me 5 minutes. To give buffer time I waited in my car for a while 15 minutes. Walked in to pick it up, my bag with tamales was ready, but the cashier hadn’t even started the esquites, the person who told me 5 minutes. Full of mayonnaise. Over priced. Inconsistent. The girl up front has the worst attitude. One person can tear it all down.

The food we did get was good, though our table had a total of $20 of food that we never received and were told by the female that we would get it 3-3 different times.

I was initially impressed by the menu and options but seriously, I am normally very easy going and felt that we were ignored, insulted and robbed. Even after my wife had to put on her Karen and complain about not receiving our food for an hour, she just ignored her and said “ok” ... then proceeded to take out food for other patrons.

Love supporting local, but this will be the last time you receive...
