On Monday, around 1:30pm, I visited Wings and Rings for a quick lunch.
The food was good. The service was good. But I have heartburn over having to pay .50 cents for an extra ‘maybe’ half ounce of tartar sauce for my fish n chips lunch.
What a shame. It was a good meal.
Yes, It’s trivial, .50,, but FFS, when’s it stop?
After asking my server (nicely) to please remove the charge, the very young manager then came over to (nicely) tell me ‘he couldn’t take it off the bill, because it’s a set charge’.
I politely told him that I’d never been charged for an extra tarter sauce in my life, and that it’s disturbing they’d even charge for it, even more disturbing that he wasn't willing to take it off my bill. (again, we’re talking maybe 2 teaspoons of TARTER SAUCE!). Not angry, not belligerent to him, more bewildered. I mean, if I’d ordered TWO extra tarter sauces, I’d understand, and yes, the wing sauces are extra, but that’s part of the pricing structure of wings. but a charge for one extra tarter sauce?
He then- in all seriousness - said: “there’s nothing I can do about it…” 😂
I smiled, then explained to him that the meal was very good, and ok, yeah, I’ll pay the .50, but that I’ll never come back to this restaurant and they’re probably losing $500 from me over the next few years…. for a .50 charge. He just kind of shrugged, told me (again, politely) that “I hate to charge you for it, but it’s the policy”
Tartar sauce isn’t a profit center, it’s a condiment…
Net: Lost customer, lost profit, semi-negative review on the web… (3 stars) All due to a .50 cent charge on my bill for a condiment. What’s next, .25 for a ketchup squirt? (Damn, I shouldn’t give ‘em ideas!) What a shame, it was a good lunch. 😞 (to add: No, the server never told me there was an extra charge for another...
Read moreBWW is terrible but Wings and Rings is a whole new low. Our waitress was Julia E. And she was a complete waste of space. We waited 20 minutes to be seated and then waited 20 minutes for our drinks. We all ordered water and it took 20 minutes. I can only assume they were melting a fresh chunk from a glacier into our individual plastic glasses. We ordered our waters and food at the same time and 1/3 of our food showed up 30 minutes after our fresh glacier water. A few people got their wings, another person just got their side, but no one got their whole order. The wings that did come out at that time were warm, not hot just barely warm. We waited another 20 minutes for people to get their full meals so we could eat. She didn't come to check on us we had to get up and ask for water refills. We finished our food and waited and waited and waited. I had to leave our table and track her down to ask for boxes and checks. She was playing on her phone at the server station! I went to the bathroom which was worse than any truck station I have been in. By the time I got back to the table she still hadn't made it back to the table. I watched her take the order of a table with 8 people before she came over with...two boxes and no checks. The computers apparently broke for one our checks so cue more waiting by this point I was finished so I went to the hostess and asked to speak with the manager. She said she would find them.....THE MANAGER NEVER SHOWED UP!!!! We were at our table for approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes and only 15 of that was eating the rest was waiting. So if you have time to waste on poor service and subpar food go to Wings and Rings or as Dr. Seuss called it "The Waiting Place" where everyone...
Read moreAbsolutely never ever ever order carry out. One, you have to stand at the hostess stand for 5 minutes+ while your food sits on the table beside you. Then you get home and it's missing food. Call and they quote a time. Go back and pick up accordingly. The hostess was seating a group and told me she'll be right back. Again, another bag of food on the table beside you. 10 minutes later someone else walks past asking if I needed help. I once again tell them I need to pick up an order and I ask for a manager. The shift manager, Marcus, comes out. I mention my food is now cold at home and the food on the table is now cold after I've been waiting here. He proceeds to lie to me and says he just brought it out (check the cameras). He then says there's nothing he can do, and doesn't offer a resolution. I ask for the GM's contact information and I am refused. Yes, I am refused the GM's contact info and he says he can take my info down. As I leave the parking lot there's 3-4 employees just hanging out outside having a good ole time. Probably same one that said she'll be right back.
Finally get back home to eat my cold chicken sandwich, and it's missing the beer cheese that was suppose to be on it! WOW!
This is by far the worse experience I've had with Wings and Rings. I am appalled by the incompetent staff and management.
As of this review, there hasn't been a resolution and will update...
